It had been a rough few months for Kaelan since her last match in Union. She thought she had what it took to end the undefeated streak of Kaven Drell. She let herself get too cocky. She ended up getting tossed in the flames. Truthfully, the Union team had done a great job of putting out the flames before the damage could be really severe, but it had warped Kaelan’s own image of herself. She looked at the minor burn scars as if they were big and grotesque. She covered herself for weeks, ashamed of how she looked. Afraid of what people would think of her. She spent countless days turning herself into the Irish Stereotype she hated the most. The bitter drunk. The only thing that got her out of it was the promise that she could make up for failure in that Inferno Match. That she could step up to the plate again, and redeem herself. To show everyone it was just a fluke loss. All it took was time.
Kaelan sat indian style on her bedroom floor. Staring at the mess in front of her. Bryan had an old clock in the basement and it had fascinated Kaelan to the point she had scooped it up, taking it upstairs and in the end she had completely dismantled it. Running her fingertips over the cogs, and the gears, the hands of the clock, the numbers. She did the task in complete silence. Eventually looking up at the camera and beginning to speak.
“I’ve been absolutely obsessed with the passage of time. When it comes to my life, my career, everything. I’ve put myself in this box. Saying that I have so long to achieve this championship here, I have to hurry and try and be a mother by this time, I have to be a hall of famer by here. It’s drove me absolutely mad at how much I’ve let my own image of time control my life up until this point. Seeing the ticking of the clock… and then dismantling the whole damn thing has really put things into perspective for me. Made me realize… at the end of the day? Time ticks away because of simple things like gears, wires, and numbers made up by people long dead and and buried.”
Kaelan let out a laugh under her breath and slapped her knees a few times in the process looking back over the dismantled clock in front of her, shaking her head.
“I’ve let time manipulate me for far too long. I thought I had everything figured out with Kaven you know. I thought I had to jump quickly. That time wasn’t on my side. I let the gears turn and the hands tick and control me to making a decision I obviously wasn’t ready for. I played with fire and in the end I got burned...severely. I haven’t been the same since that moment. I’m sure everyone can tell. I’ve spent a lot of time worrying about what people were thinking of me. What was going to happen to my career. Obsessing more about time and having to jump back into Union to show people I wasn’t running away… and then one day? I got sick of letting the ticking hands of the clock control my life. I don’t owe anyone my time when they want it. I’ll arrive and leave any destination I desire precisely when I mean to and not a moment sooner, or later.”
“Nobody is going to tell me where I should be. What I should have achieved at this point in time. I suffered a severe loss. It happens to the best of us. The scars from the flames will always be reminder enough about it. I won’t obsess over them. Just like I won’t obsess of the scars of the various deathmatches, including the one I thought was the end of my life. If anything seeing what I went through against Kaven should really wake everyone up at Union on exactly who I am...Look at these scars and see the truth.. I’m a survivor.”
Kaelan presented her burn scarred arm to the camera to show it to the world.
“That’s right. How many people have faced Kaven and walked back into the doors of this company? Nobody but Anna Daniels. Elena, Kimitsu, some of the strongest competitors I’ve ever seen stepped up to Kaven Drell and failed...and then never came back. Yet here I stand ready and willing to come back for more. Not giving up on the company. Not giving up on myself and knowing I’m capable of so much more. When I call myself the Warrior Queen I made it clear that it wasn’t just a clever moniker. For me it’s about showing that no matter what? I’m gonna keep pushing forward. I was wounded. I lost an important battle,.. But I wasn’t going to let that be the end of the War. I tended to my wounds. I’ve bidded my time and now it’s time to rebuild my empire.. And it starts with you Danny.”
Kaelan picked up one of the gears and held it up to the camera with a smirk on your face.
“Look at this cute little gear. Before it was just sitting in this clock.. Making sure the hands of time ticked away and carried out the agenda of the clock, and with just a simple wack of a hammer it all came to a grinding halt. That’s you Daniel. You’re the gear in the clock.”
Kaelan tossed the gear down into the wreckage of the clock on the floor in front of her. Dusting her hands off with a disgusted frown on her face.
“Daniel. You came here not for yourself. You came here to push the agenda of another company. To put a flag at the top of Union Battleground in the name of NVR. It had nothing to do with you. You’re nothing but another cog in a machine. Another man like Dakota. Claiming to be the meanest and toughest, and the edgiest guy there is. All while being in the pocket of some fat dumb cunt who has a lot of money. Sorry. Hard to take you seriously as a monster when there is someone with a choke chain around your neck telling you when to bark and snap.”
Kaelan rolled her eyes.
“You’re all the same. Claiming you’re badder than the last. It’s exhausting trying not to get you all mixed up really. Danny you’ve spent so much time selling your soul and turning your back on anyone and everyone that ever cared for you to get ahead. I promise you? It doesn’t end well. You think some success is better than none, but in reality you stand there cold and alone with nothing to show for any of the sacrifices you’ve made. It’s time you get the reality check you need.”
“Bryan Williams wasn’t able to give it to you. Stop relying on your mental illness to get you ahead in this business. Look what happens to the men in this company that do? It ends up being their downfall. You want this to be another upset victory for you. You want this to be the icing on the cake you’ve made for yourself here in Union, but this isn’t your story. This is my story. This is the story of how the Warrior Queen rose from the ashes and fought her way back to the top.”
Kaelan rose to her feet looking down at the mess she made. She sighed and grabbed a broom nearby and went to work sweeping up the mess in front of her into a dustpan.
“I recently had another battle of Northern Ireland in Yamashi Pro. Against Aella Foley. I ended up taking the Championship she thought was hers. It’s time for me to solidify myself as the top talent of Northern Ireland once and for all. When I take down the scarred up little wolf cub of the Macnamara clan.”
Kaelan picked up the dustpan filled with the remains of the clock and held it up to the camera.
“This is the future that waits for you Daniel. You’re just a gear ticking in a clock. I take away that power from you and you’re worthless. I’ve been through too much. Suffered for too long to let myself fall to the wayside. The second coming of the Warrior Queen is at hand and no man or beast is going to stop me from getting back on top. Where I deserve to be. May God have Mercy on your Soul Daniel. Because I will show you none.”
With that Kaelan tossed the remains of the clock into a trash can nearby before putting the broom down. She smirked and winked into the camera before walking out of the room, flipping the light switch off as she went and closing the door onto total darkness.
