On the standpoint of results, I'm a big fan of summarized results. They're easier to write for match writers and are more likely to be read by readers. Commentary bogs down both the writing and the reading for me personally. Would changing the style of match writing to a less meticulous format help?

That may be an option. I’ve seen feds that summarize undercard matches and fully write out main events. That might be an option if we stick to the hybrid or even competitive format.
Ok, so here’s the full disclosure. I have been debating on making UB more competitive, especially when it comes to title matches, for a little while. But here recently, I have been in talks with Perry Wallace about making UB the angle division/brand of 4CW. They are currently working on a several tiered RPing format, and I came to them about having UB become their angle brand.
The reasoning is really, for one I’m not sure how much longer I plan to keep UB around on this somewhat fully written results format. It has become quite a struggle for me to get matches and segments in order in a timely manner, and with the summer coming up, my work is going to be getting really busy. There is also another person interested in this angle division, so having someone else involved with angle experience would be very beneficial, although I haven’t spoke with them personally yet.
From what we’ve discussed, handlers can float around with the different tiers, whenever they feel either burned out from the higher word count or if they want to challenge themselves with a higher word count.
The initial plans if this were to go through was that we’d finish out our season with the hybrid format, and slowly phase into the angle format.
I know there’s several handlers in both 4CW and UB, and for those just in UB would be welcomed to any of the tiers that 4CW offers.
So that’s the possible future of UB. What’s your all’s thoughts of this proposition?
Do we know what tiers are exactly? I might have missed them myself about what the format stuff is.
I am quite happy in an angled format, I do think it can be easier for you too especially when you have people giving you all the goodness of ideas and direction so you basically just try to slot it in and stuff like that instead of having to read an RP once, twice etc to judge it/get a group of judges to read and then judge it. Easier to manage and then development rps are like a special treat you can read and we can write without any need to win or say the right thing, more so to just tell a story.

Since I got Kimi in both this would of course be fine. At first I was worried about this since going one way or another would be alienating some people. Also didn't know how to handle the hybrid situation because telling some people that their matches are angled might end up with less effort put into the posts. A merger, if that is what this is, with 4CW sounds good. As far as UB goes, fully angled with smaller results looks like it would make it easier on everyone. Both fed heads would get support of a bigger team. For those that like to RP competitively they will still have a division like UB had with a 1.5k word limit and I believe we would be able to move around per cycle so as not to have people burnt out. Also gives chance for some angled people to test the waters of RPing with some great talent.

Perry has updated that thread about what we have discussed. We will stay on our board and site at least until Guerrilla Warfare, then potentially make the move over to their site and board. We will stick with our hybrid format through Coup de Grâce as well, no matter what.
There’s potential that we may stay hybrid, someone even suggested UB become the 1 RP 3k word cap division. Regardless, the Guerrilla Warfare Match will still be judged competitively, and the UB title itself may carry over to 4CW as a competitive title, while promoting the Trench War Title as the primary title in tjrnangle division. There’s also talks about unification matches and such, but I won’t go into too much details until things are a little more certain.
Perfect scenario, I imagine those here that want to stay competitive would join in one of the tiered RP divisions, and drop in a secondary character in the UB angle division to join in on, essentially, the creative writing team fun.
So what’s your all’s feedback about the updates to this partnership?
I won't lie- I'm a little cautious but I'm sure it'll all work out.
Definitely keep the Hybrid style though. In fact, if I'm totally honest, I was set to agree with Dick's post on the last page but if this merger is the direction we're heading in, fair enough.
