Back on top of the mountain, but Anastasia could help and linger at the scene of the crime. Not literally, of course, but one blemish had been haunting her for some time now. She sat on the edge of a picnic table, looking out into the distance, and lost in her thoughts. Anastasia had just won the 4CW Championship a month ago and while that scratched an itch of hers, she knew that wasn't good enough; not loose ties that needed to be cut off.
And so she came back; never alone with Lisa seated behind her, using the picnic table for its intended purpose. That doesn't matter though as Ana has come back to reality, her eyes locked in on the camera now.
"We could've walked away. We could've accepted that our time as the Union Battalion Champions was done. After all, I went on to become the 4CW Champion and Lisa just won DTW's Carnage Carnival. So you have to believe me when I said we didn't need to come back to this...but we have. We have because just like the 4CW Championship and the Carnage Carnival, when we want something bad enough? We're going to get it. It's a simple thing that a lot of you need to realize when it comes to Anastasia Hayden and Lisa Seldon. The wrestling world is, and always will be, at our mercy."
"We set out to make 2019 the year where we helped put tag team wrestling back on the map and that's exactly what we did. The Hellcats put down some of the best of the best, we walked away with gold and awards, and we solidified our position as the best tag team in the world. But that's just not enough for us. Not when we've had our property stolen from us. When we left at Guerilla Warfare, we knew there was some unfinished business that we'd have to come back for."
A sentiment shared by the two Hellcats and backed up with a nod from Anastasia. It doesn't matter how many times they face The Zombies, they must have the last laugh.
"And here we are. At Guerrilla Warfare, we knew what we were getting ourselves into. We specifically sought out two of the greatest teams in the world because we were determined to revitalize the Union tag team division because that's what champions do. That match wasn't just to stroke our egos as the best in the world, but to set a standard for everyone else in Union to follow. Sadly, that isn't what happened, is it? That's another reason why we're back here because The Zombies couldn't do what we did. They didn't want to bring out the best. They're happy where they're at. And I've never settled for just being good enough."
"See, we pride ourselves on bringing out the best everywhere we go. I don't want something that's easy. I want a fight. I want a challenge. And I'm never satisfied until I get one. In 4CW, I was determined on bringing the company back to the heights it once was at, but unfortunately, that blood had been far too poisoned in my absence. And I know Lisa feels the same way in making sure that doesn't happen to Union. The only way for us to do that...is to take back what's ours."
Anastasia glares into the camera for a bit; determined as ever to retrieve the Union Battalion Championships. Her silence is broken as she hops up off the picnic table and takes a few steps forward as she collects her thoughts. And so Lisa can eat in peace presumably.
"As far as I'm concerned, as good as The Zombies are, they didn't beat us. They took our belts, but they didn't beat us for them. You stole them. It doesn't matter how many times we've all beaten each other separately, you didn't beat us for the Union Battalion Championships. This wave they've been riding on ever since Guerrilla Warfare has been one coated in fraud. You stole what belongs to us. You beat Benny and Zack. You know you two are good, great even, but you're not better than us. You're not better than the Hellcat Spangled Death Squad."
"When you set out to do a job, you never do it half-assed. You finish what you started and since The Zombies weren't interested in doing it, don't worry, we may not have the belts at the moment, but we'll still carry ourselves like champions. We'll finish this. It doesn't matter how many times we get knocked down because we get back up every single time. Lisa and I have been knocked down from mountains higher than ones you two could ever dream of and we climbed all the way back up because that's all that we know how to do."
Closing out her sentence, Anastasia thumps her chest with her hand on the last few words. They had worked so hard to get the Union Battalion Championships in the first place, they weren't going to let them fall to the wayside.
"You can always see Aoki and Fuku working so hard, but they never get anything done. And when they do, it's like this reign, who cares? They don't do anything to let the world know who they are; they're not trying to bring in the best like we did. Don't let them deceive you. I've crossed paths with Aoki plenty of times, he's beaten me, I've beaten him, but there's a reason one of us has reached the top of the mountain in their respective field. There's a reason that Fuku is a multi-time champion, but you would've never heard of her if 'Zombie' wasn't attached to the end of her name."
"Fukushima can think whatever she wants of us, but I hope she knows that she could never lace my fucking boots. She can stay in her lane, tearing up all the little joshi girls while I continue tearing down giants like Aoki and Bryan Laughlin. We'll continue to raise the bar that she'll never even dream of reaching. And Aokigahara can continue to be seen as a deathmatch 'legend', but all I ever see Aoki do anymore is show why he's washed up. He gets so many chances to prove that he can be an actual legend only to walk away empty-handed time and time again. But that's just in the DNA of the Zombie Clan isn't it?"
Ana accompanies that with a thumbs up and a flash of a painfully cocky grin. But there was some truth in it with Ana and Lisa both having beaten just about every member of the Zombie Clan. The important ones anyways.
"Always the bridesmaid, but never the bride. It happened with Kimitsu here before you two rolled in and nothing's gonna change. What makes you two think you'll endure a different fate than her? We gave you your moment. We allowed Aoki to remember what being a champion felt like and we gave Fuku a platform that she's failed to capitalize on. Truth be told, I would've loved to have been able to go on and focus on something else in Union, but you two just couldn't do your jobs and that's a blatant slap in the face to Lisa and me. You had your fun, but time's up."
More silence, more glaring. The days of having fun with the Zombies are over with Coup de Grace looming in the not-so-distant future.
“Now the professionals are back. The promises you two failed to uphold, we’ll deliver on them. We have no problem picking up your slack and I can promise you that we won’t get tired of carrying this division on our backs. We won’t abandon Union. And it won’t be the Battleground, Trench or War Horse championships people think of when they look at Union, it’ll be the Battalion Championships that we’ll proudly wear everywhere we go as we open up the gates to the wrestling world to try and tear us down.”
"Allow us to do the real work now, alright? I want Aoki and Fuku to be as comfortable as possible before we roll up and rock their fucking world at Coup de Grace. Let them stroll in thinking that they've got a chance, let them think that because they stole the titles from us that they've suddenly become the superior team. The Hellcats are a family, the Hellcats are the best thing in professional wrestling today, and when that bell rings at Coup de Grace, when you two still think you've got a chance to beat us...I want you to remember one thing."
A genuine smile from Anastasia; coated with a real eagerness to get back in the ring and an overwhelming amount of arrogance.
"We can't be stopped."
