Scene I of I – “Preying On A Predator…”
”Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8
1 Peter 5:8
The sight of utter and pure greenness fills our vision as the scene opens up. The camera pans back to show that we are overlooking what looks to be the tops of an immense amount of trees filling what we assume is a jungle. A thin layer of fog rests above the trees coinciding with the grey skies, by the sight of fog and the fresh earthy, jungle smell, it seems we have just missed a rainfall. The camera begins to now head south towards the jungle floor and as it does, we see the remnants of a storm that just passed as the majority of the trees and plants have fresh water dripping down off of them and as we get to the jungle floor, we see small puddles scattered throughout.
Now, level with the jungle floor, our view has us looking straight ahead with no set path existing in the mass of greenery. We start to hear the slow pace of footsteps coming from behind the camera, crunching various twigs, sticks and causing small rodents to scurry past the camera’s view. We see boots come into view, then legs covered in black cargo pants and as the camera begins to rise, we see the back of a black leather jacket. The camera then pans to the front of the figure, who raises his head to show the face of “The Alpha & Omega” Nemesis.
Nemesis then begins walking as the camera now pans back to just behind his shoulder, giving the viewer the perception of what he sees as we move along the thickness of the jungle that lays before him.
“Utterly underwhelming…”, Nemesis’ voice echoes out through the jungle
“To think, it has been made to be believed that Union Battleground offers some of the best competitors that this planet has to offer an entity of my stature…what a continuing lie”, Nemesis says in an assertive tone as he brushes away some branches that lay in his path
“It seems though, the hierarchy of Union Battleground believes that by pitting the ‘brawn’ of it’s roster against me like the mortal weakling Maverick and now, the WWH Hardcore Champion, Damon Xalvador will somehow slow down the demise of it’s stars, titles and company as a whole…”, Nemesis says while flashing one of his signature sadistic smirks
As Nemesis continues on, he comes to a part of the jungle that is a little bit more wide open, albeit, trees, vines and the sounds of the critters that inhabit this jungle can still be seen and heard.
One of those inhabitants is seen resting on a long, thick branch that lies about only a few feet above Nemesis’ head; a sandy brown and black spotted, adult male jaguar, whose piercing amber eyes can be seen following something off in the distance, as if Nemesis’ presence doesn’t phase this jungle cat in the slightest.
The camera zooms down the jungle to try and get a sight of what the jaguar is watching. We see the vast greenery of the jungle begin to open a couple of hundred yards north where a sizeable river runs through it. Just in front of the water, on the jungle’s water bank rests a singular, pre-adult black caiman, which looks to be fair sized in length and weight.
The jaguar perks up as he notices the black caiman go into the water, swim a few feet and come up on a little bank that rests in the middle of the river, with water on each side of it. The black caiman turns it’s back towards us and gets in a resting position on it’s belly, obviously to bask in the glory of the sun that’s beating down in this rare opening that lies in the middle of the thick jungle.
“It seems as though the predator has become the prey…”, Nemesis says as he too focuses his sight on the black caiman
The jaguar quietly hops down right in front of Nemesis, quickly glances back at Nemesis and then proceeds forward slowly towards the river’s bank with Nemesis following just as silently behind him. The jaguar moves without a singular noise created by each step, making sure not to alarm or alert the prey that lay before him. Nemesis is just as noiseless as the jaguar to make sure not to interfere with nature’s cycle of life, but Nemesis has a much more casual strut to his walk then the jaguar does, as if Nemesis is utterly certain of how this will go and his presence will not effect the outcome.
As the jaguar approaches the bank, with Nemesis still behind him, he begins to veer off to the right, walking gingerly through the water, not creating a single splash to alert the caiman, as the jaguar stalks, looking to come from behind at the perfect angle. Nemesis remains stationary at the river’s bank instead of following the jaguar, just watching calmly as nature takes its course.
Now, after finding it’s perfect direct angle, the jaguar enters the water, slowly treading, again not creating a peep as it gets closer and closer to the unsuspecting black caiman.
“The 'melanosuchus niger' or black caiman…a magnificent killing machine that has dominated it’s predatory range and territory for millions of years…an apex predator about to unknowingly succumb to a far more determined and fierce predator…how ironic this situation is compared to ours Damon, in that, you seem to have no idea what’s coming for you…”, Nemesis says as he watches the jaguar begin its slow ascent onto the bank where the black caiman rests
“Like the life of the black caiman that the jaguar is about to take before our eyes, I will take the opportunity for notoriety…for pride, like you mortals so extensively seek from you Damon…At L!GHTS OUT, it will be your demise, after that, it shall be Union Battleground’s day of reckoning, as it is written, let it be told”, Nemesis says as his attention strays back to towards the river
As Nemesis looks on, the jaguar makes its move, leaping onto the unsuspecting black caiman, immediately going for the back of the neck and biting into the black caiman’s brain case. The black caiman tries to fight vigorously but only for a few moments, meaning the jaguar must have bit into the central nerve system, hence the sudden stop of a fight put up by the black caiman so suddenly.
Still clutching the back of the black caiman’s head, the jaguar lifts it almost straight up as if showing off its kill to the camera. The jaguar then begins dragging it back towards the water and then begins swimming through the river back towards the bank Nemesis rests on, still clutching it’s kill in it’s mouth.
“In nature, like in mortal existence, it does not matter the size of a predator, there is always a more vicious and hungrier predator out there who does not care whether his prey be bigger or smaller, the only care of said predator is to exterminate and feed on it’s prey, Malcolm San Cross and Maverick have learned that and so too shall you Damon”, Nemesis says with complete and utter certainty in his voice
Meanwhile, the jaguar has reached the bank’s shore, now dragging its prey over to where Nemesis stands. The jaguar dumps the black caiman a few feet in front of Nemesis, gets down and begins digging into its meal. The camera pans up from the jaguar ripping into the black caiman, as it goes to a frontal view of Nemesis, but angled so that the camera is looking up at him from where the jaguar is feasting. The sounds of flesh tearing, a big cat loudly purring and the wet slapping of the blood on the jaguar’s mouth can be heard as Nemesis speaks again.
“Fate is something that no being, whether mortal or not, can avoid. The fate of this reptile that lies at my feet, continuing on the cycle of this realm’s food chain was sealed long before the jaguar even had an inclination of hunger, let alone, the instinct to hunt and kill, we, Damon Xalvador, are currently undertaking very similar circumstances’, Nemesis says enigmatically
“You see…before your eyes opened to witness its first vision, before your hand grabbed your mother’s thumb as a newborn for your first touch, long before you ever uttered your first word, your fate was sealed; to fall before ‘The Alpha & Omega” when time deemed it necessary. Well, now the seal to that envelope has been broken and placed on the sands of earth, the trumpets have been sounded from the skies and I, ‘The Harbinger of Revelations’ Nemesis, have come to claim your existence”, Nemesis says as he kneels down to be level with the jaguar still eating its meal
“Time and nature are funny entities, they do not care what you think, feel or expect, both will take their course accordingly but most often in a way that is not expected when it comes to the end, death or cease of existence…It was witnessed throughout this world, by millions of eyes, how easily Malcolm San Cross and Maverick were manhandled at my will, and Damon, you shall be no different…let the examples of their destruction give your mind a good grasp of what to expect, so there are no surprises when you fall into complete and absolute darkness…”, Nemesis cold bloodedly chuckles
“Enjoy the remaining days, hours and minutes Damon, because I am Nemesis…I am your down fall”, Nemesis says as he stands back up from crouching over the lifeless body of the black caiman
Nemesis looks down once more at the deathly carnage that rests at his feet. The jaguar stands up, seemingly satisfied with it carnivorous intake, walks around the body of the mangled black caiman and then to the side of Nemesis. Nemesis himself turns around and begins to walk off into the jungle as the jaguar follows by his side step by step mysteriously. The camera remains in the same spot as we watch Nemesis and the jaguar eventually fade out into the immense amount of green foliage in the jungle. The camera then begins to tilt down and fades with the last image being the lifeless, hollowness found in the blackness of the killed black caiman’s eyes.
