The Louisiana Swamps are a scary place at night. Dark, with a sort of persistent fog. And luckily enough we can’t feel the stench of the marsh. And right there, in the most unlikely scenario you could imagine to find him, Chris Andrew steps into the frame, wearing a beige trench coat and a big pair of glasses.
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to Beyond The Myth with Chris Andrew."
He gives a quick and slinky glance all around, with a worried look on his face.
"This place is kinda scary, don't you think? I mean, I can totally see the Creature From The Black Lagoon emerging from that swamp at any time!!"
He turns around, staring at the marsh behind him, almost pushing away that irrational fear. In such a creepy atmosphere, even a small, common noise like a twig cracking is more than enough to startle the Arizona born wrestler, who stares now at the camera with eyes wide open.
"Jesus, Mandi! You scared me!"
His girlfriend and Union Battleground talent Mandi Morrison can be heard giggling from behind the camera, while Chris is trying to regain his composure. As if he ever had any.
"So, where were we? Oh yeah.. Don't worry folks, no Gill Man around here. But there's another creature haunting this places. You may now it as the Rougarou. For those of who unfamiliar with the Louisiana folklore, the Rougarou, or Loup Garou is a half man half wolf monster, said to feed on human blood, especially the blood of people who didn't behave appropriately. If that's true, I should be safe enough."
With a not fully convinced smile he starts walking deeper in the marsh, carefully and cautiously measuring every step.
"The scariest thing is that, if you got bitten by a Rougarou, you get turned into one yourself. Like a zombie, just with a lot more hair."
He suddenly stops on his tracks.
"Did.. Did you hear that?"
He points his index to a certain point.
"It came from over there. Come on follow me!"
Somewhat excited, even if failing to hide a tremble in his voice, he starts running in that direction, followed by the camera held by Mandi.
"Guys this can be the discovery of the century! We are about to meet a mythological creature!"
He stops a few steps away, bringing his index to his lips, covering the remaining distance padding silently. A murmured groan is heard from behind the bushes.
"Oh my God... Sorry dude! I thought you were the Rougarou!"
"Man what the fuck?"
Chris quickly pulls back, a male figure appears in front of him. No hair, or at least the regular amount on his bare chest, a furious look on his face. A female voice sighs out of the frame behind the guy.
"Sorry man... Look I'm leaving, I didn't mean to interrupt you... Have fun!"
Laughing he runs away, leaving the swamp once and for all.
"Can you believe they were... I mean, in this place?"
Barely able to stay serious, he shakes his head.
"Anyway, no trace of the Rougarou guys. And that's not the only creature that's nowhere to be seen in Louisiana. Or I should say Kreature, with the K. "
Taking off the glasses, he leans back against the car they rented to reach that pleasant location.
"I am talking about my opponent for this upcoming Union Battleground PPV, Fallout. Did anyone actually see him? Does he really exists? Or is he another urban legend? Because, honestly, all I was able to get about him is a vague description of this guy wearing some heavy facepaint, surrounded by this creepy mysterious halo. Quite cool and all, if he wasn't a total fluke inside the ring. You all saw him against Azrael, a couple of L!ghts Out back, all that talk, all that hype... And what happened once he stepped in the ring? He chocked."
He removes the trench, revealing a fine suit underneath.
"Now my record isn't impressive, my last time here I was defeated by Tornado, and there's no shame in that. I mean, you saw that guy right? Crazy talented, I have so much respect for him, and I seriously hope I get another chance to face him down the road...
But I digress.
As i was saying, I feel like I'm letting my Union's fans down lately. I can see they are clearly suffering a lack of Chris, but when I finally have the chance to compete in front of them, I can't get the job done. Tonight, this all will change.
You see turns out, and that's a fact, I am actually undefeated in Pay Per View. Sure, UB library of past PPV only counts one event, but if you check Battle Of Los Angeles, available on DVD, Blu-Ray and on streaming on the official website, you can admire how I schooled the Expert, and how good I looked while doing it.
Maybe I give the best under pressure, maybe the idea of being part of one of the biggest events for this company pushes me going that extra mile... But I plan on keeping my PPV record immaculate, even if that means hunting and putting down some elusive Kreature."
Flaunting his best and most confident smile to the camera, he messes up his hair, way too well-groomed for his usual standards.
"It's the opening match, the one that sets the tone for a huge night, with a lot of guest stars and a stacked card. You are all in for a treat, and by the end of the night, it wil be as sure as the sun, and as obvious as the fact that the Rougarou doesn't exists that Union Battleground needs more Chris."
