"Oh, if I had listened to you from the beginning, what a difference it would have made."
We fade in to find Izumi Sato in a dark, indescript room. Her long black hair looks unkempt, and her makeup has taken on a darker tone. Simply put, the Izumi Sato we know and love is gone, replaced by a darker, colder version.
"If I had only a taste of the Darkness from its source, rather than received it second-hand..."
She smirks coolly.
"No more Pure Heart Warrior, no more stupid silliness. Kira Izumi would have won without having to throw a single punch."
She closes her now dark shadowed eyes, inhaling deeply as if taking comfort from the very mention of Kira's name.
"You were right, Kira. You were right, and I was so foolishly wrong. But no more. The days of crying over my parents is over. The times I cried and screamed, begging for mercy... are over."
A sinister grin spreads across her lips.
""And the reign of Darkness has just begun."
She nods.
"You broke me down, tore away my weak exterior, and for that I thank you. For that I owe you."
She nods again, that smile still playing across her lips.
"So let's dance one last time, you and me, teacher and student. Japanese Deathmatch. The Darkness commands, and we deliver. So let it be done. Let there be blood."
Izumi rubs her hands together with anticipation.
"For the first time in my life, I'm excited. Merely a few short weeks ago, I would have tried to flee, to hide, to avoid these kinds of matches as much as I could. But no more. Never more!"
Now she shakes her head to emphasize the point.
"Now I embrace the violence. Now I look forward to slicing you up, Kira. Not for anger or hatred, not out of some petty desperation, some futile attempt to survive. You've opened my eyes, so now I see clearer than ever before. So again, I say thank you."
And with that, we cut away.
