OOC: I'd like to reserve the extension please as a precaution. Might not need it but it is nice to have so I'd like to just reserve that for me and Tornado
“Line Them Up.” Noah Reigner & Rumble Reyes Vs. Trixie & Tornado Desencadenado
Chloe Reigner stood in doorway of the guest room of her home in Seattle, Washington. Leaning against the door frame, she watched as her little brother - Noah Reigner - packed his bags. Noah had taken temporary residence here with her while he took a break from his duties in San Diego’s “So Cal Ultraviolent”. Noah stuffed his gear into the bag last after holding it for a solid second, staring down at it.
CHLOE REIGNER “Leaving so soon, No?”
NOAH REIGNER “Duty calls, sis. I have to head to Hampton, Virginia.”
CHLOE REIGNER “Wait. Virginia? I thought you wrestled in San Diego.”
Noah zipped the bag, slinging it over his shoulder. Turning, he faced his sister with a smile.
NOAH REIGNER “Union Battleground, they contracted me and Rumble for a tag team tournament..”
CHLOE REIGNER “Oh. Rumble..”
She said with a little hint of disdain in her voice. Rumble was a member of the Los Renegados team that turned on and attacked Noah in San Diego. Although Rumble himself had no part of it. Noah and Rumble still remained allies to this day, even though you could assume that Chloe and Noah’s brother, Ethan, didn’t approve at all. Protective and all, you know?
NOAH REIGNER “Don’t worry about it, Chloe. Rumble has my back and I have his. What happened was all Julian Cortez and Dick Devereaux, who will get his sooner or later. Afterall, he’s in this Union place too..”
Noah said with a smirk, obviously looking for a bit of redemption. He approached his sister, giving her a brief hug.
NOAH REIGNER “Thanks for everything, Chloe. I’ll talk to you again soon.”
Noah separated from the embrace and began to leave the house. Chloe turned back, shouting after him - even though the door was beginning to close..
CHLOE REIGNER “What about Ciara?”
The door closed and Chloe was left. She slumped more against the door frame, shaking her head and exhaling a deep sigh.
--------------------
“It’s no secret that a few weeks back, my brother in the Los Renegados group blindsided me and stabbed me in the back. That was Dick Devereaux, and since then I have been told - ‘I told you so’ by just about everyone I know. You shouldn’t have trusted Dick, you shouldn’t have trusted Julian in So Cal. And I’m man enough to admit that I made a mistake. But there is one thing that happened that night that people are overlooking. Rumble Reyes didn’t move a muscle. Rumble Reyes didn’t help Julian and Dick. What happened had nothing to do with Rumble. People question my choice in tag team partner for this tournament; but I know that there is no one better to team with. And despite what happened in San Diego, I know that Rumble Reyes has my back..”
“I trust that.”
Noah took a drag off of the cigarette that he put between his lips. His eyes narrowed into slits as he looked through the smoke that rose up from the cherry of the cigarette. After removing the cigarette from his mouth, he waited a couple of seconds before exhaling.
“I trust that when I walk into the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia, Rumble will be there. I trust that he will walk side by side with me down to the ring, and I trust that together we will beat Trixie and Tornado. Together, Rumble and I easily put together one of the best teams in professional wrestling. We have strength, speed, and technique that can’t be touched. But above all else, we have the hunger. And like I said, it doesn’t matter if you’ve been together a day, a week, a month or a year - we’re going to put you down. Together we’re going to watch them all line up, and together we’re going to shoot them all down. And that certainly includes Trixie and Tornado.”
Smirk.
“Cute little name though. The Beautiful Storm. -- Trixie; finally it’s our time. You and I have went back and forth on the social media machine. You’ve talked a big game and said you would take me on when and wherever, right? Well, Union Battleground has given us the platform and I’m ready. You, though? Well I have to bring up your focus. I mean, sure. We all know that I’m focused on Dick Devereaux and one day getting my chance at him, but I am also balanced enough to know that I have another mission in front of me before that happens. I am balanced enough to know that I have to shift focus long enough to achieve the goal of winning this tournament. You? It must be getting hard to juggle when you’re a jet flyin’, city hoppin’, bouncin’ bunny - huh? What is it, at least three other companies you’re in, and you want me to believe that you’re going to come out - focused on me and Rumble? ..
Come on now, Trix, we both know that isn’t true. And to lie to me, and to your partner is shameful. -- But I’ll play your game. Say you’re focused on this obstacle in front of you, what are you going to do? One of Rumble’s legs weighs about as much as you, how do you plan on combating that? I’ve seen you in the ring, Trix, trust me - you’re not that impressive. Is your partner? I don’t know, I’m not too familiar with him, but let’s say that he is. Let’s say that Tornado can compete with Rumble, take the big man off of his feet and stop the freight train that’s speeding toward him. Okay. Now it’s me and you, Trixie. Can you beat me? Not a chance. You’ve picked up big wins and may have beaten some big time opponents - but I’m not like anything you’ve come across before. Maybe that’s why Julian Cortez has kept us separated. To protect the Trixie brand.
There’s no one to protect you now.”
Noah took another drag from the cigarette.
“Tornado.” He exhaled a cloud of smoke. “I’ve done a bit of research. I’ve found some matches, and I’ve learned a few things about you. For example. In the ring you like to rely on a technical base with some power added. That’s cool, man. I’ve learned that you are well loved by fans everywhere you go for the amount of heart you display in the ring. But one thing that I don’t understand is why you’ve bought into the Trixie brand. I’ve thought about it long and hard, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I really don’t care. See, I don’t have as much of a disliking for you as I do your partner. From where I stand, I have no problem with you other than the fact that you stand across from Rumble and I in this tournament. You chose to stand next to Trixie and, unfortunately, drew the short straw in facing us.
I may not be as technically trained as you, Tornado. I may not spin my opponents by the legs and make them, and myself, dizzy in the process. But what I can do, hit you so hard that you feel those same effects that you would after you have spun your opponent around in the airplane. What I can do is drop you on your damn head, ending your night quicker than you expected. I know it’s easy to stand here and spew a lot of garbage toward you, and I fully expect you to do the same. It’s the nature of the beast, right? You don’t know one another so you assume you’re better. It’s all good. But there is one thing that I do know..
I know that Rumble and I are a better tag team. I know that my weaknesses are Rumble’s strengths, and vice versa. I know that a much as you rely on your power - Rumble can and will literally rip you in half if given the opportunity to do so. I know that I can out wrestle and ground Trixie. I know that this first round of the tag team tournament is weighed heavily in our favor. You and your ditzy partner can think otherwise, that’s fine. You can have all of the fans believing your twisted tales, too. But at the end of the night, it’s not a fairy tale story for you guys. Believe it or not, we’re a mountain of an obstacle. One that you’re definitely not going to overcome.”
Smirk.
“You’ve been sentenced to execution by way of Firing Squad. You’re now standing back first to a wall, staring straight ahead at us - guns drawn and fingers on the trigger.”

GASLAMP DISTRICT ALLEYWAY ● SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA JUNE FIFTH, TWO-THOUSAND SEVENTEEN
There was a stillness within the air, a stale taste that seemed to engulf your being. A fear strikes deep down in your heart, but you're fully unaware why.
There, in the darkness a group of young thugs, all wearing hoods upon their heads, walk down the alleyway on a cold and rainy night. A full moon rose high above them, the fog just settling in heavy enough. The hoodlums run lead pipes along the lining walls, cackling as they traveled, about anything and everything. The rain trickles down the sides of the buildings, as well as the fire escapes high above, causing a rather loud pouring of water. The trio continue to walk along, hitting anything within their path, attempting to be as destructive as they possibly can.
They've made it roughly mid-way down the alley, sauntering about, when another dark figure appears at the mouth of the alleyway. The full moon shines behind him, creating a massive outline, much larger than any of the goons had created originally, and it simply stands there. The trio sees the shadows that's cast down the alley, and they all turn, shouting obscenities at the shadow a bit, believing the shadow to be a mere trick of the light. Slowly, the outline walks towards them as they grow rowdy, hitting the side of the walk again, and barking out insults. As the outline draws closer, more and more of him is revealed.
It's here that our three troublemakers realize they've made a grave mistake.
There in front of him, stands a man almost seven feet tall, and over 350 pounds. His arms are crossed, and even though the sun hadn't been out all day, he wears a pair of shades. The trio has stopped barking, as the shadow loses the mystery about him, revealing himself to be a true monster. Instead, their insults are replaced with silence for a few seconds, starring in absolute awe. So the man stood there, with no jacket, allowing the water to pour over him as if he never felt it at all, stoic and unchanging. That is, of course, until the most arrogant one thought that maybe their combine might could take this mysterious stranger. Besides, he had a lead pipe in his hand. He lunged, striking the former shadow in the gut with the foreign object.
The hoodlum laughed as he retracted it...but seeing almost no reaction at all from the former shadow stole the smile right from his face. The man's face was no longer unchanging, and told a story of pain and anguish. The hoodlum's life almost flashed before his eyes as the mystery giant reached forward, grabbing him by the throat with both hands. He lifted, forcing the hoodlum to drop the lead pipe, as he flew across the alleyway, crashing into the side. The force alone knocked him unconscious.
Maybe they were afraid before, but loyalty is powerful, and the two had just watched their friend disappear in an instant. Together, they lunged, punching and kicking like wildmen. Of course, adrenaline will only get you so far. The giant had recoiled back from the onslaught, taking a few steps back. As the duo ran towards him, he lifted up his leg, catching one of them in the face with a massive boot, sending him to the floor. Now, there was only one, and he knew it, but it was too late. The last goon found himself kicked into the stomach, hoisted up onto the giant's back and launched clear across the alleyway.
Complete darkness filled his eyes as he succumb to sleep.
I am Rumble Reyes. I'm not here to force you into marveling at my size, I'm not here to be a walking spectacle. Before all else, I am here to to dismantle the roster of Union Battleground, and when all is said and done, walk away with the Battalion Championships...
Here in Union Battleground, lie some combustible elements. SoCal saw both the rise and the fall of Los Renegados, with myself, your own champion Dick Devereaux, and Noah Reigner. Noah and Dick have their issues, but I don't seek to get into the middle of that. Personal problems don't interest me, and fixing them interest me even less. What Dick and Noah do is their business, what Cortez does is his business. I could care less. Los Renegados might be over and done with, but it gave rise for The Firing Squad from the ashes. Noah and I have already been partners, we've already been a destructive force and know we can operate as such. What's more, is that trust is always present. Together, the two of us make up one complete wrecking ball against any of these other teams in the Battalion tournament. The Firing Squad prevails, those belts belong sitting upon our shoulders for the world to see.
With that in mind - if you planned on making it past us, simply because of the events that took place a few weeks back in SoCal, you're sorely mistaken. Though I will agree that it was really the only glimmer of hope you had of walking away with those titles. Hoping Noah and I had personal issues between us that would be too much for our team to withstand. Unfortunately for you, Reigner and I never had issues to begin with. Come to think of it, we never have, and when it came down to it, operated more like a unit than either of us did with Dick. That means the rest of you fools are in trouble.
Usually, I could see why you may hold some doubt while listening to my words. I'm a nobody to the majority of you, despite being a veteran in the business, and ending more careers than I can count. Far too often we see people walk in, talk and a big game without being able to back it up. Look at the Society. Came into this place speaking about 'The Lost and Forgotten' while also looking like models and speaking ill of everyone else who may ACTUALLY be lost and forgotten...only for them to fall flat on their faces and be given a spot in the tournament for whining...
But that's not really the case with us, is it?
No. Because our first round opponents, Beautiful Storm, know us. Well, maybe you don't Tornado, but your partner sure does, don't you, Trixie? Trixie and Noah have been back and forth on twitter since SoCal re-opened, so how fitting is it that we're to meet here in Union Underground? I said it on Lights Out #13, and I'll say it here now, you know exactly what we're capable of Trixie, and if you were smart you'd warn your partner.
You'd tell him all about the path of destruction that Noah and I have left in our wake. You'd tell him about the broken bodies that lie around the ring once we're done with them. You know the horrors that are on the path in front of you, and still you try to charge us as if you have a chance. Your issues with Noah are one thing, but when you throw me into the mix then you're facing an entirely different demon. You may not have gone up against us in the ring yet, but you've certainly seen, first hand, exactly what we're capable of. The question is - will you lie to your partner or will you tell him the truth?
And you, Tornado. You're getting the short end of the stick here. You've got a partner that is known for being catty, known for lying, known for being a rather large drama queen. How do you operate inside a partnership with someone who holds such qualities? When I look at the pair of you, your personalities don't fit in the least bit. Unless you've got yourself a little crush on her breast implants, I can't rightfully think of a reason you'd want her as your partner. In that case, getting yourself wrecked inside that ring on Lights Out #14 won't put you in better standing with Trixie, that's for certain. However, it's possible you can save her from extermination by sacrificing yourself. Again, I could care less about personal issues, I only seek to annihilate. So if it's you Tornado, or you, Trixie, or if it needs to be both of you pinned to the canvas, then The Firing Squad will do it!
This place - it's OUR Battleground now. It belongs to the Firing Squad, as well as those Battalion belts. We're not here to play games with some mismatched team of some bitch who is all talk and some puppy she keeps in her bag. Let this be an example to anyone else in this tournament...you stand up to us, you get SHOT DOWN."
The intro music to the Pilot of Battle Network Babble with Savannah Skye ends. Savannagh Skye speaks first on the Podcast, which features The Battalion; Beautiful Storm and Trixie in the sound booth with her.
Savannah Skye: ” I want to welcome the tag team “Beautiful Storm” to the podcast. Thank you both for granting me this time to talk to you before your match scheduled for the next episode of Lights Out; which will be broadcast this coming Friday, July 7, from the Hampton Colesium in Hampton, Virginia.. I have just a few questions here for you both, but the first question is for Tornado. There is a wrinkle to Beautiful Storm in that before you became tag partners Trixie was your mentor. How did this relationship happen? "
Tornado: ”We met back-stage at Fallout. I wasn’t booked for the Pay Per View, but since it was in New Orleans and I live nearby I was able to attend. Trixie was waiting for her match and we got to talking. At that point I had just been competing professionally for a couple of months and I was really looking for pointers on how to navigate my way through the business. She offered to work with me, and I accepted.
Savannah Skye: ” How have you benefited from Trixie’s guidance? "
Tornado: ”In ring she’s helped me a lot with my speed and striking. I also have gotten a lot of good advice from her on the business side of wrestling; who’s good to work with, how to find representation, how to market myself, etcetera.”
Savannah Skye: ” Trixie, what made you decide to take Tornado on as a protégé? "
TRIXIE: ”What made me pick Tornado as my protégé is his clear drive to succeed in this business. What promotions does he compete in? A couple, he makes sure his name is out there and I wanted to make sure he doesn’t get misguided. He’s in Redemption’s developmental brand so I’m the one who’s making sure they develop the best way possible. Trixie Brand approved. "
Savannah Skye: ” I think most people would agree the two of you are very different in terms of personality and wrestling styles. Has this ever lead to a problem for you as a tag team?”
TRIXIE: ”Not really. I feel we complement each other. Tornado shows raw power as I deal such a wicked blow with sinister strikes. I’m a quickster who can tire out our opponents, wind them certainly with a well placed superkick to the solar plexus and let Tornado show me his own style. Unlike a lot of mentors, I prefer my protégés to be themselves and not adopt from me, that’s why Beautiful Storm is going to be a heck of a team, we bring two different styles to tear The Firing Squad up. "
Tornado: ”I’ll second everything Trixie said. Beautiful Storm benefits from our contrasting styles.”
Savannah Skye:” Beautiful Storm was one of the first official tag teams of Union Battleground. Did you form knowing Axel Graves was going to create the Battalion Division, or were you just hoping it would happen?
TRIXIE: ”No, we formed because I was born into tag team wrestling, it was what I did in my rookie year and what better way to work with your protégé than actually wrestling with them? "
Tornado: ”Right. You learn by doing. Tagging with Trixie has taught me a lot. As for the Battalion Division, I did think Union Battleground had something planned; Axel just needed people willing to work as team to step up to make it happen. Trixie and I were two of the first.”
Savannah Skye:” The first round of the Battalion Tag Tournament took place last week at Lights Out #13. What are your thoughts on how it went?
Tornado: ”I was really impressed with everyone involved. Los Tot Danishi drew a bad hand when they were slotted to face The Outliers; no shame in losing to one of the best tag teams in the business. And the main event was amazing to watch as a fan. It was a shock to see Tweeder teaming with his old tag partner Amy Jo Smyth, and the two of them gave Adam Fenric and Emery Layton all they could handle, even if they couldn’t get past the XWA champs. The semi-final match is going to be just as good.”
TRIXIE: ”And we’re fully intending on being in the semi-final obviously. Beautiful Storm have a score to settle with Salvation, Society trolled us on Twitter. We know the goal is to be in the finals, but with those two there, be prepared to see myself and Tornado totally driven to kick, scratch, claw and bash our way through the So-Cal Saloon Doors. "
Savannah Skye: ” Speaking of So-Cal Ultraviolent, at Lights Out #14 Beautiful Storm competes in the tournament against a team from the SCUV promotion, The Firing Squad. Do you think it’s fair that outside wrestlers with no previous time in Union Battleground get the chance to fight for a title?
TRIXIE: ”That’s LITERALLY what Union has been about. “Come one, come all”, I’m a firm believer that The Firing Squad get to be in our match. "
Tornado: ”Exactly; UB’s credo is ‘rep where you step’. Anyone who’s willing to step into a Battleground ring should be welcomed.”
Savannah Skye: ” What do you know about the men who make up Firing Squad: ‘Rumble’ Reyes and Noah Reigner? "
TRIXIE: ”Or as I know them as...Los Renegados. We’ve never actually crossed paths in SCUV, because I focused on winning the Trixievision title while they kinda...didn’t get any accolade. Reyes is quite a tall guy and Noah’s more of a lean bean. So it’s going to be a real test for us with a 6 foot 8 guy to contend with. But I know how to cut an opponent down to size, it’s how I have my Trixie Title all restored when I beat Anton. "
Tornado: ”Unlike Trixie I’ve had no personal contact with them. Right now all I have to go by is her word and tapes of their matches. “Rumble” Reyes is the muscle of the team, while Noah Reigner is more of an all-arounder. But they have a definite power advantage over us. To win, we’re going to have to use our wits and speed.
Savannah Skye: ” How confident are you that Beautiful Storm will win and move on in the tournament? "
Tornado: ”Very. You have to go into every match thinking you’ll win, while making sure you come up with a plan to do so. That’s the hard part; coming up with the plan. Still working on that.”
TRIXIE: ”Bup-bup-bup. He’s still learning, Savannah, but I always have a plan, SCUV I’m very well known for having something up my sleeve to beat giants. Reyes and Noah, they’re quality cuts but they’re not prime, hello? I’m the Prime Girl, Tornado and myself together will make absolute sushi of the Firing Squad. Our particular set of skills is our arsenal, Tornado is the Tank, I’m the Superkick Sentry and we’re going to pop out some major Wrestling Firepower on Light’s Out, that’s the plan. "
Savannah Skye: ” The other Battalion Tag Tournament Match taking place that night will be Salvation versus The Society. Whoever wins would be your opponent in the next round. There’s bad blood between Beautiful Storm and both groups. Hypothetically, is there one you would rather face? "
Tornado: ”That’s a tough call. It would be the rubber match against Salvation, with both of us having a win over the other, so it would be nice to break that tie. Honestly, though, we shouldn’t even being thinking about the next round, given the challenge we have ahead of us”
TRIXIE: ”Salvation. Just Salvation. "
Savannah Skye: ” Any final thoughts on the upcoming show? "
Tornado: ”Lights Out 14 is a stacked card even if you leave out the Battalion tournament. The fans coming to the Hampton Arena and those watching the show on the Battleground Network are in for quite a show.”
TRIXIE: ”Just that Axel has done a lovely job creating an open door tag team division. And Beautiful Storm are going to be on top of it. "

INT. REDEMPTION ARENA - WASHINGTON DC - JULY
Trixie steps out of the office labelled “Devlin Scott - Owner” with her Trixie Title on her waist for everyone backstage to see as she catches Tornado Desencadenado backstage an “AWE” t-shirt and dark jeans, Trixie dressed in a medi-skirt and cross wrap, silk eggshell blouse. Tornado had been using his phone to research the opening times and admission prices of various DC landmarks. It was his first time in the nation’s capital, and once he and his tag partner were done with their Redemption Fed obligations he intended to do some sight-seeing. The young wrestler stood from his seat and the reception area and joined Trixie as they made their way through the sprawling corridors of the arena.
Backstage, Trixie spots a couple kids arguing as two tween boys are sporting Los Renegados shirts, that of Noah and Reyes faction of SCUV. Their verbal opponents are a blonde and brunette girl and boy who have on Beautiful Storm shirts. The girl shorter than the boy with blue eyes unlike Trixie’s hazel ones. The two boys with very short hair, one taller and two years older looking than the other.
Renegados Boy 1:
They’re going to get wrecked by Reyes.
Renegados Boy 2:
Face the facts. Noah and Reyes are ending them at Lights Out, we already got ticks for that big fight.
Trixie:
Oh it absolutely is.
Trixie says tapping Tornado on his shoulder as she approaches the group in a walk to correct the boys. Her stride confidently furious as she stands before them, taller and making them both tongue tied as Trixie stands in the hall with them, Tornado hovering behind her bemusedly.
Trixie:
But you do realise that Noah and Reyes, while they’re bigger than me, go down just as easy with a well placed stomp on the back of the knee, right? Everyone goes down.
The girl taps her leg, specifically the knee and looks up to Trixie, like she can definitely be assumed she does, admiring the Superkick Sentry Blonde.
Storm Girl:
Superkick the knee, Trix.
This makes the two boys look at each other, suddenly realising Trixie isn’t the type to superkick someone in the head, there’s other body parts. Her smile said just that as she points to the girl for a great idea.
Trixie:
That works even better, Reyes collapsing on his own weight after my superkick and then he’s in a scary position, because Tornado will and can literally tie him up on the mat. He’s so good at mat based wrestling.
Storm Guy:
He’s called the Fundamental Elemental for a reason.
Tornado, surprised that someone has called him by one of this many sobriquets, speaks up from his spot behind Trixie..
Tornado:
That’s true. I know how to put someone on the mat no matter how big they are. Ask Salvation’s goon Sinister; who’s just as big if not bigger than Rumble Reyes. Despite the size difference I was able to knock him around the ring and eventually put him down, just like I do to any brute who thinks all you need to win in the ring is a hyperactive pituitary gland. And then, once they’re down, I show them how I earned another of my nicknames: The Spin Doctor.
He gives a slight smirk to the teens.
Storm Girl:
See? Told you, and once Noah gets swung around and around, Trixie will just turn his Lights. Out.
Trixie lightly chuckles at the pun by her tween fan. She copies Trixie’s hand on the hip pose which makes Trixie smile with delight as she, for the moment, had yet another protege. Although she then pulls her eyebrows up as the boy perks up with a grin.
Renegados Boy 2:
Not if Reyes saves him, that’s his boy.
Trixie masks an eyeroll. She swaps her footing and rests her hand on her other hip, copied by the Beautiful Storm fan girl.
Trixie:
He could, but I’m- We’re Usain Bolt compared to Reyes, can Reyes stand up to a double explosive dropkick from me and Tornado?
Tornado::
Or a full speed cannonball senton from me followed by a flying forearm smash from Trixie? Or any of the tandem offense we’ve developed?
The boy looks off, knowing it was unlikely two top speed dropkicks wouldn’t drop Reyes. The two Beautiful Storm fans relaxing as they felt they’d shut up the other two boys.
Storm Girl:
It’s a tournament as well so how can you two even think Trixie and Tornado won’t be so driven.
The taller boy glances at the blue haired girl and then back at Trixie.
Renegados Boy 1:
Just Noah said-
Trixie:
Noah said a lot about me, what they have clearly forgotten is this match is going to be Trixie AND Tornado. We’re both coming off triple threat match wins, meaning we beat two people in one match. Tornado is my protege, did Noah tell you that? No. I think The Firing Squad may be a good team in an Ultraviolent environment. Noah and Reyes actually have one recorded loss over at SCUV, against a team like ours, but…, as I was saying, Union Battleground is a whole different environment that I’m certainly used to as one of it’s originals, Tornado has a number of matches here and we have tag team matches in our bank.Experience in this promotion is so valuable, which puts us above Firing Squad who seem to just have crosshairs on me and me alone…
Trixie says with a toyful look around and shrugging her shoulders until Tornado scrunches his eyebrows. Calm, cool and collected, he takes the expository baton from Trixie and runs with it..
Tornado:
Which would be a mistake. I may not have the brand recognition Trixie does no opponent should be overlooking me. The Firing Squad talk tough, and they are going to be a tough out, but Beautiful Storm is motivated to win this match. We are one of the original Union Battleground tag teams, banding together to help build the Battalion Division before it even had that name. If the two of us aren’t able to make it to the finals of the tournament, we’ve failed in our goal. If we don’t even make it out of the first round we’re an embarrassment. The stakes are way too high for us to lose Friday at Lights Out. Failure is not an option.
The two Renegados boys slowly slink back and avoid eye contact as they start making their exit. The two fans however stick around, eager for autographs.
Storm Boy:
You showed them, Tornado.
The Whirlwind Wunderkind shrugged good naturedly and called after the retreating fans of The Firing Squad.
Tornado:
Hey, don’t go. There’s nothing wrong with rooting for your guys. I’m sure they appreciate it. They’re just wrong if they really think they’ll be ending Beautiful Storm’s run at Lights Out.
Storm Girl:
Yeah, you got ‘ticks’ to that, don’t ya!
Trixie high fives her sassy fan as she then autographs the programme for her at Redemption and signs it. Tornado watches silently; slightly envious at how easily his partner interacted with the pair of teens. They were very different people; this was true. Critics often cited these contrasts when they argued the two would never really mesh as a team; and that Beautiful Storm was destined to be nothing more than a novelty act for Union Battleground.
Those critics were wrong. Beautiful Storm would succeed, and rise to the top of UB’s Battalion Division, by doing what storms do: destroy whatever it was that stood in their path.
(And, as their name implied, look good while doing it).
