INT. COFFEE SHOP - LAS VEGAS - MONDAY, 5TH FEBRUARY, 2018
Trixie arrives at the coffee shop wearing a black ruffle skirt north of the knee and an eggshell white blouse with ruffle 3/4 sleeves and a moderate v-cute. She looks at the shop seeing the usual people around. A writer busy at work on his screenplay, a brother and sister relaxing on the red couch after a day at work at Trixie’s favourite sandwich shop. So then takes herself to the counter to order her favourite drink.
Clerk:
"Black forest hot chocolate with strawberry syrup, not cherry."
"Black forest hot chocolate with strawberry syrup, not cherry."
Trixie smiles, her jaw still open and then nods modestly, albeit impressed the clerk knew her usual.
TRIXIE:
"Exactly, and can I get a double chocolate cookie."
"Exactly, and can I get a double chocolate cookie."
The clerk looks at her a little bit shocked to see her add a cookie to the order.
TRIXIE:
"Let’s just say I need it."
"Let’s just say I need it."
After being dubbed a cheerleader by her partners, despite the fact she was one in high school, made her want something sweet to nurse the sour shot.
As for Jay, he had arrived mere minutes prior to Trixie, having ordered a regular coffee with cream, sugar, and extra caramel flavor just as he liked. He motions to get her attention as she turns from the counter, holding up his hand and standing to walk to the other side of the table and hold her chair out for her. One of his biggest secrets, he was actually a gentleman.
Jay Sinclair:
"What's good with you?"
"What's good with you?"
He smiles as she approaches, wearing a Las Vegas fitted cap, black polo, and blue jeans loose fitting since he was regularly offended by the idea of skinny jeans
TRIXIE:
"Thank you."
"Thank you."
Trixie takes a seat and her face slowly turns to a confused look, expecting him to be far from a gentlemen. She then shrugs off that thought and goes ahead to answer his question while he sits down.
TRIXIE:
"Well, the positives are I have the Trench War title match in my back pocket still for Union Battleground , but I’m sort of finding it hard to say much else."
"Well, the positives are I have the Trench War title match in my back pocket still for Union Battleground , but I’m sort of finding it hard to say much else."
She chuckles, a little nervously, keeping a brave face on her. Jay half smirks and tilts his head to the side, curious.
Jay Sinclair:
"Why hard to say much else? Nervous about it?"
"Why hard to say much else? Nervous about it?"
TRIXIE:
"Well, just still striving to get that first CWC win. It’s kind of affecting me mentally, I’m sort of losing my matches elsewhere because I’m slightly obsessing about it...and then my Nemesis goes and wins the title I didn’t. Not a pleasant year for Bad Kitty."

Another nervous chuckle from Trixie and crosses her legs. She compulsively changed the topic.
TRIXIE:
"So you’re in VPW now."
"So you’re in VPW now."
Jay nods.
Jay Sinclair:
"Yeah, yeah… needed some change. Empire hasn't been in my favor lately, wanted to expand some, get my name back in my hometown and mix it up with different talent. Been in Canada since the first show, figure it's about time to venture. Plus, keeps me focused some. "

Taking a sip of his coffee, he looks to her with a sincere expression.
Jay Sinclair:
"And I been where you are, don't sweat it, you'll get that first win, and it'll be monumental. People didn't believe I would ever win the Canadian Championship, and I pulled it off."
"And I been where you are, don't sweat it, you'll get that first win, and it'll be monumental. People didn't believe I would ever win the Canadian Championship, and I pulled it off."
Trixie nods, noticing him steer back into the topic. She gives him a sweet smile back, remembering her confrontation with her trainer after Welcome to Japan, the doubt he put on her she wanted to disprove.
TRIXIE:
"I hope so. I thought winning the Junior Heavyweight Title would end the rut, and I thought “What a statement and a comeback” but it didn’t really happen like I wanted to. I’m just hoping that I’ll be getting over this seemingly impossible wall, like, I just want to superkick it out of my life and be on top of the world again like I was when I was Indy Champion in EWC, TV Champ in SCUV, Genesis Champ and Dynamic Duo champ all at once. "

"
She says remembering the last summer when she was feeling Queen of the world with too much gold to carry across four promotions. Jay looks on with raised eyebrows, impressed at the feat.
Jay Sinclair:
"Dayum, that's heavy artillery. But nothing is stopping you from doing it again. Just gotta get up and go even harder for what ya want. The minute you slow down or feel defeated, you're losing yourself, and that's never good."
"Dayum, that's heavy artillery. But nothing is stopping you from doing it again. Just gotta get up and go even harder for what ya want. The minute you slow down or feel defeated, you're losing yourself, and that's never good."
TRIXIE:
"I know, I just have this paranoid feeling I’ll cash in my title shot against Emery over in Union and I’ll lose that too, she’s been the most dominant champion with practically a year on her reign roughly. That’s kind of what’s, not scaring me, but worrying me a little."

She then shuts herself up from exposing further vulnerabilities with a hot chocolate slurp.
Jay Sinclair:
"That may be the case, but look at that as it's time she meets the end of that reign too. You train, you're smart, you prepare, nothing to it but to do it, just gotta stop staying in ya head and over thinking."

TRIXIE:
"Maybe, probably...definitely."
"Maybe, probably...definitely."
She chuckles.
TRIXIE:
"So what happened to you and Rayven? I’m a little bit behind with all the travelling from Hong Kong and everything."
"So what happened to you and Rayven? I’m a little bit behind with all the travelling from Hong Kong and everything."
She leans forward a little interested, given Rayven and Trixie had worked together on her movie. Jay looks reluctant to share, but takes a deep breath and goes on anyway.
Jay Sinclair:
"Just shifts in career, life, arguing a lot. Didn't really feel like either of us were seeing the other’s side. I've been hella pissed since she started filming that movie, honestly. Didn't like the closeness I was seeing."

TRIXIE:
"You felt she wasn’t just acting?"
"You felt she wasn’t just acting?"
Jay Sinclair:
"I mean, I don't know… just saw a lot of flirty shit going on, caused fights because I didn't agree with it. All I wanted was dude to keep his opinions and shit to himself, but then I was made out to be the bad guy because I was defending my own."

Trixie shows a sympathetic frown.
TRIXIE:
"Well, if it means anything, I think you both could still get together. She was happy with you."
"Well, if it means anything, I think you both could still get together. She was happy with you."
With an eyebrow raise to emphasize her point as she took another, larger sip of her hot chocolate.
Jay Sinclair:
"Maybe down the line or something. If she wants to pursue something I'm not down with, I don't wanna be an anchor. She needs to focus on her career, get that how she wants it. "
"Maybe down the line or something. If she wants to pursue something I'm not down with, I don't wanna be an anchor. She needs to focus on her career, get that how she wants it. "
TRIXIE:
"That’s very sweet, but I highly doubt you were an anchor. You seem totally chocked full of advice."
"That’s very sweet, but I highly doubt you were an anchor. You seem totally chocked full of advice."
Jay laughs slightly, shrugging.
Jay Sinclair:
"I can be, but I can also be hard to handle when things don't go how I think they should. That's my flaw I gotta work on."
"I can be, but I can also be hard to handle when things don't go how I think they should. That's my flaw I gotta work on."
Trixie seems to take his reply a bit with caution and asks.
TRIXIE:
"Hard to handle when things don't go how you want them to? "
"Hard to handle when things don't go how you want them to? "
Jay Sinclair:
"Yeah, like in a confrontational way. That's where Ray and I had our differences. I wanted it one way, she another, so I argued, or acted petty, and it took some serious boss tone from her to get me to quit. I wanted to fight Troy, the whole deal, she didn't like that. Just that street part of me that won't leave."

Jay pauses a few moments, reflecting on his own words and taking a gulp of his coffee, shaking his head.
Jay Sinclair:
"Guess I'm just not meant for that kinda life, yanno? I'm not like you or her, I'm not star quality with looks or have die-hard fans."
"Guess I'm just not meant for that kinda life, yanno? I'm not like you or her, I'm not star quality with looks or have die-hard fans."
TRIXIE:
"You're a star, Jay. I'm totally sure of it. And there's nothing wrong with being a little street. You can take the girl out of Vegas but you can't take Vegas out of the girl. "
"You're a star, Jay. I'm totally sure of it. And there's nothing wrong with being a little street. You can take the girl out of Vegas but you can't take Vegas out of the girl. "
Jay’s right brow raises after her statement.
Jay Sinclair:
"You? Don't let me find out you have a street side… "
"You? Don't let me find out you have a street side… "
He chuckles, but the idea of Trixie with a mean streak like him was interesting..
TRIXIE:
"It’s there if you dig deep enough."
"It’s there if you dig deep enough."
She adds a small giggle which she chases with a helping of delicious hot chocolate.
Jay Sinclair:
"Interesting…"
"Interesting…"
He takes a sip of his own, thinking as he looks to the register where a group of businessmen begin to order their drinks in a very proper, almost conceited way. Then, his concentration goes back to Trixie, having just had a thought.
Jay Sinclair:
"Maybe that's what you need then. Dig deep, let that part of you out, then get back to those winning ways you want so bad. You're dubbed the bad kitty, right? Let those Sin City claws out."
"Maybe that's what you need then. Dig deep, let that part of you out, then get back to those winning ways you want so bad. You're dubbed the bad kitty, right? Let those Sin City claws out."
TRIXIE:
"Well, that’s for a few reasons...but I’ll be bringing out those claws totally."
"Well, that’s for a few reasons...but I’ll be bringing out those claws totally."
She turns her head just to see who strayed his attention and looks at the business men, a glance up and down to see their business wear. So not the look Trixie was interested in seeing right now and turns back.
TRIXIE:
"Since we’re colleagues now, you’ll have to watch out I don’t scratch “ya”."
"Since we’re colleagues now, you’ll have to watch out I don’t scratch “ya”."
She ends trying to speak like Jay and can’t help but chuckle. Jay laughs with her, amused by the attempt.
Jay Sinclair:
"Yeah, you might have a little bit in ya. But don't worry about me. If you need to scratch to get past me, I don't hold it against anyone when they gotta get a W. Just watch the face, I can have my beauty ruined, feel me?"
"Yeah, you might have a little bit in ya. But don't worry about me. If you need to scratch to get past me, I don't hold it against anyone when they gotta get a W. Just watch the face, I can have my beauty ruined, feel me?"
TRIXIE:
"As long as you watch mine. "
"As long as you watch mine. "
She says drawing her hand around her face she had made up naturally with a subtle hint of glamour.
Jay Sinclair:
"Oh, that's no prob at all. I wouldn't be fucked up like that. Does feel good to be around new people, though. Roster is stacked, decorated champs all around."
"Oh, that's no prob at all. I wouldn't be fucked up like that. Does feel good to be around new people, though. Roster is stacked, decorated champs all around."
Jay motions toward Trixie.
Jay Sinclair:
"And hopefully, just hopefully, I can get my stock up again. I've come a long way from wrestling in a strip club."
"And hopefully, just hopefully, I can get my stock up again. I've come a long way from wrestling in a strip club."
He laughs at the passing memory. It was by far the oddest span of matches a wrestler could have.
TRIXIE:
"Oh? Which clubs did that? I know the casino I worked at hosted the odd one."
"Oh? Which clubs did that? I know the casino I worked at hosted the odd one."
Jay Sinclair:
"Sinclair's, just off the strip. My old man runs it, my brother wanted to try his hand at promoting."
"Sinclair's, just off the strip. My old man runs it, my brother wanted to try his hand at promoting."
TRIXIE:
"Did he do well? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it."
"Did he do well? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it."
Jay Sinclair:
"Yeah, it did actually. The whole place stays jumpin’ on a nightly. I used to emcee there, introducing dancers and playing music. Wasn't a bad gig."
"Yeah, it did actually. The whole place stays jumpin’ on a nightly. I used to emcee there, introducing dancers and playing music. Wasn't a bad gig."
Trixie smiles, learning something new about her colleague, her city and tops it all off with a nice little sip of her drink.
CUT TO:
EXT. COFFEE SHOP - LAS VEGAS
Much time after their conversation and him showing her some funny videos, Trixie emerges from the coffee shop thanks to Jay holding open the door.
TRIXIE:
"Thank you, Still totally strange you’re such a gentleman."
"Thank you, Still totally strange you’re such a gentleman."
She keeps finding it hard to believe he’s got some manners to him. Jay laughs, knowing it's unexpected of him.
Jay Sinclair:
"Yeah, I know, one look at it's people thinking I'm just obnoxious, rude, and a dog. I dig the whole “more than meets the eye” lifestyle. Gotta know me a bit to see the surprising aspects. And you're very welcome, too, I appreciate you inviting me. "

Trixie smiles as she shakes her head to the perception.
TRIXIE:
"I'd have said rugged, tough, bad boy type. Far from rude, not very obnoxious. But you're welcome to coffee any day. It's not like you live far."

Jay Sinclair:
"Thank you."
"Thank you."
Jay smiles with a nod to follow.
Jay Sinclair:
"I'm free most the time, so I'm good for coffee, food, or just sitting around and manning fun of people if ya want. "
"I'm free most the time, so I'm good for coffee, food, or just sitting around and manning fun of people if ya want. "
TRIXIE:
"Well, call me if you ever want to. I’m totally free Thursdays in Vegas, unless it’s a Welcome to Japan type of thing, or a Kamikaze Pro Tour, then that’s a no go."
"Well, call me if you ever want to. I’m totally free Thursdays in Vegas, unless it’s a Welcome to Japan type of thing, or a Kamikaze Pro Tour, then that’s a no go."
She chuckles and decides to add a little joke
TRIXIE:
"You stay out of trouble."
"You stay out of trouble."
Jay appears indecisive when it comes to her words.
Jay Sinclair:
"Ehhhh, I'll do my best, but no promises."
"Ehhhh, I'll do my best, but no promises."
TRIXIE:
"Same here."
"Same here."
And she bids him a friendly wave goodbye before stepping into her car. Jay closing the door for her to remind her again he can be a gentleman before she pulls out and heads off to her home.
