"Thirty Silver Coins" vs. Flash Kassidy By Aiden Deimos1500 WORDS
APRIL 7TH, 33 AD
PATH TO GETHSEMANE
3:18 AM
The cold damp fall air briskly caressed his face. The wind circled around him like a cyclone, the leaves slowly falling around him as the spiraled down the the hard earth surface. It was peaceful out in the woods, no sounds of the nearby village, no rucus of the markets. Just the sound of the wind flying through the trees and sandals on the dirt road.
He was at peace, finally finding a place that belonged to him...his true calling. He belonged alongside the disciples of Jesus of Nazareth, he was truly one of them. No need for money or legacy, just being able to spread the word of his miracle, being in the presence of God himself was a blessing.
“Hey Judas, hurry up, we need to make it a few more miles before daybreak. We must reach Sanhedrin before the weeks end.” Peter said just a mere twenty feet in front of him. They all knew that Peter was Jesus’s favorite, and they all were fine with that. Being in God’s presence was enough. Knowing that this man could lead them to eternal happiness was enough.
Judas picks up his pace, gaining on the other 12 men in his group. They all came from different backgrounds, from different lifestyles and livelihoods, but with him they found their place. To say he wasn’t jealous would be an understatement. Being looked at like a God among men, and being one. All he wanted in life was to be wanted, to be desired...to be important. But Judas excepted long ago that that wasn’t his place, he belong in the background. Despite the desires that he shoved deep down inside himself he knew this was better than being a lowly fisherman or farmer. He had a role he must play even if he wanted more...almost needed more.
“You can be more…” the soft voice came from behind him, as he looked around himself. Where was it coming from? Who said it? He must of just imagined it. He continued to walk alongside Peter. He looked forward as the pathway disappeared behind the trees on the horizon.
“Judas…” the soft voice was closer this time, almost like it was inside his head. He turned to Peter.
“Did you say something?” Judas asked, hoping it was the young man.
“No. Why? What did you hear, it may be God speaking to you?” Peter replied, a look of excitement on his face.
“No...nothing like that. Just thought I heard my name. Nothing to worry about. Let us continue.” He looked behind him, nothing but a single white dove sitting along in a tree.
They continued on their journey as the sun began to rise, the sky begin to turn red as the sun peak above the horizon in front of them. Andrew looked back at his brother, a look of concern across his face. “Peter…” he said to his brother.
“Andrew relax. Nothing is going to happen. That was only a superstition at sea. We will be okay I promise” Peter replies, trying to console his brother. Andrew always seemed to worry, and this superstition shared by many fisherman seemed to be no different.
Red sky at morning sailors take warning. Something the brothers have lived by since their father put that wisdom upon them. Judas looked at me the brothers then the sky. He has never believed in superstition, but after the weird voices he has been hearing, something seems off. Like danger is right around the corner.
The wind around Judas begins to pick up, as the slow begins to grow cloudy and dim. Off in the distance Judas sees an old woman, her long silver hair ratty and worn. She wears an old brown tunic, the hood casting a shadow over her face. Her arm slowly rises as he looks back at her. Her eyes as red as blood, her teeth as yellow as the sun. She is pointing at him now. Her dark red eye beginning to glaze over as wings of smoke, as black as night, begin to rise out from behind her. He tries to look away, but his eyes will not move...frozen...lost within the deep black nothingness of her eyes.

MARCH 13TH, 2018
GREAT BASILICA, PLOVDIV, BULGARIA
3:27 AM
The cold night are remains silent, the wind warping the bowed metal fencing, pushing it in and out. The beautiful laid flooring of the Great Basilica only remains from the ancient structure. In the middle of the surface sits a man. His legs crossed as his long black leather trench coat lays softly behind him. Not much is know about this character, other than his name… and his life prior to Salvation. Aiden Deimos, called, by many, the Executioner of Salvation, the Savior of the Forgotten.
Just a mere few weeks ago he was just a hooded figure of the shadows, trying to send a message to the members of the Union Battleground Roster, but here he sits. Here he sits needing to teach yet another lesson in respect. Yet another lesson in knowing who your superiors are...another lesson of Salvation.
Deimos rises to his feet, his boots scuffing against the floor as he simply stands. As he does the Basilica around him seems to almost fill in. Rising from the floor you can see pillars begin to form, the walls begin to grow, and before you know it the modern scenery that used to be visible is hidden by twenty foot tall walls. At the end of the hall sits an alter, on top of which sit thirty silver coins, spilled from a cloth bag.
“Since the beginning of time three things have controlled human kind. Money, Power, and Pride. Nearly 2000 years ago Judas Iscariot betrayed a man he loved, for 30 gold coins. The thirst for money and power lead him to falling to the ultimate low, falling to the point the men he called brother disowned him.”
He grabs a coin, placing it in between his middle and forefinger. Using his knuckles he moves the coin up then back down his hand. The gold glinting in moonlight, through the windows.
“And now Flash here you stand, lusting the power and wealth that comes with a championship in Union Battleground. Willing to stand against a force that you do not understand. Claiming victory in a war that has just begun.”
He puts down the gold coin. Placing it down in the center of the altar. He turns around, removing his hood as the camera begins to pan out, showing the length of the hall, revealing that black crows litter the ceiling.
“You see, at Crown of the King Cobra you were able to skate by. Able to walk out of that ring with a false sense of security. You claim to be “#HIGHABOVESALVATION” when in truth you are nothing more than lucky. You were unable to witness the strength of Salvation at Light Out 18, and fell victim to Viduus Morta. You even had the ego to claim that “FLASH KASSIDY WINS EVERY TIME MY DUDE!” But you failed to defeat Emery Layton, failed to overcome Viduus Morta. And you will fail once more as you fall victim to the one universal truth...Salvation runs EVERYTHING!”
He grins.
“I have been where you are Mr. Kassidy, and your pride can be a very difficult thing to overcome. You see it is the flesh that endures the storm of the present alone, those of the past and future are doomed, for they don’t see what is brewing in the sky around them. You have claimed that you are one of the best, that you should be a champion. But that gold that you thirst for...that gold will only cause you pain. It will only cause you to watch as the war that you thought you have won...is only beginning.”
A single crow swoops down and lands upon his shoulder. The omen of death’s eyes as red as blood. Deimos steps down from the altar.
“So my friend, learn from the mistakes of Judas Iscariot. Learn from the mistakes from greater men that have come before you. Don’t let your desire for power and money cloud your judgement. Because the moment you accepted our little match you signed away your career. You committed to yet again, showing your family, friends, and fans how much of a failure you really are. Cause even though Judas got what he wanted, his betrayal only lead to his own suicide. Bow down to the Kingdom of Salvation, or become apart of the mortar as we build our this kingdom brick by brick.”
The crows that circle above, dive. A black cloud engulfs the Executioner. The silence broken by loud cries and screams from the birds. When they finally settle and fly out of the building. Nothing remains, but a single gold coin spinning on the altar.

The city of Union Battleground was a dark, unforgiving place. Ruled by a faction of ghouls, unlike the world had ever seen. But in that Darkness… There was spark of light, a flash if you will… A Flash Kassidy and Charlie Blooms. The pair loom atop a large building, looking over the crime ridden city. Flash dressed as something akin to Batman, and Charlie is his Robin. Police sirens echo off in the distance, as in the cloudy night sky a spotlight appears “FK”.The pair look at each other and race across the rooftops is true superhero fashion, looking for where the distress signal was coming from. It’s at that time a recognizable voice begins to talk over the scene, narrating it. The voice was that of Flash Kassidy.
“In times like these, we gots to keep the ones we love close. Union Battleground is a minefield, more and more of them salvation fools be popping’ up everyday. Aiden Deimos, Salvations Executioner, another rogue to add to the gallery. Because you see Aiden? When I look at you, I see every other Salvation bitch that I’ve gone against. I see every other wanna’ be savior that tried to lead these fine folks like Sheep! Your story is sad sure, losin’ a brother like that. It’s some tough ish to take homie… But you ain’t doing no one any favors by gaining a god complex from it. “
A woman's scream stops the duo in their path, as they jump down from the rooftops into an alleyway. . A gang of people, all dressed in various spooky looking costumes surround a young woman and her child. Flash and Charlie have an intense staredown with the group, before sprinting forward at them - taking them head on! BOOM! POW! WHAM! And just like that, the gang had been defeated. The pair of heros leaving them beaten and bloody, before rushing off to find the source of the signal.
“ I’ve been facing folk like you since I got here, It makes ya’ wonder how Salvation works? All of them egos, all of them so called saviors… Yet each tell a slightly different story, each one thinks them self the higher power. Aiden you may be one of the cockiest fucks of them all. You truly believe that you are this executioner, this super villain type character. But you's just a man, my dude. You just flesh and bone like the rest of us! But one thing you ain’t? Is high above the competition… Not like me, I came into this company with goals homie, and you and your little League of Villains are standin’ in my fuckin’ way. You don’t get in between me and my destiny, because if you do you gonna’ end up in the dirt Aiden! Just ask Rag, just ask the first preacher man I faced. The only way you have a chance of stoppin’ my shine is if you get your little buddies to help ya’! But even then? I’m expectin’ that. I’m expectin’ you to be a punk bitch just like the rest of Salvation!”
As they run down the street, they witness a man who looks almost identical to Ragnarok exiting a bank with two very large money sacks in his hands. When he see’s Flashman and Charlie he stops in his tracks, dropping one of the sacks and pointing at the duo. It’s at this a swarm of men and women dressed as Ragdolls attack the heros. But they are no match for the pair, getting dispatched with almost ease. Flash laughs as the man dressed as Rag makes a run for it, Flash reaches into his utility belt and pulls out a potleaf shaped throwing star. He whips it through the air and it sticks in Rag’s back, instantly making him drop to the ground.
“ You like to boast how strong you is, how fuckin’ demented and tough you are. But i bet when shit hits the fan, I’ll see you calling for backup. That’s why I ain’t got no respect for anyone in Salvation! Always needing help to get the job done, in true super villain fashion. But Aiden, I am the fastest man you’ve ever seen - while your stumbling around trying to get yo ogre paws on me i’ll be high in the sky kickin’ your fuckin’ head in. Now don’t be trippin’ and think that this is me underestimating you. I know you’ve done some shit in your time. But I gots to have confidence in myself, if even for a second I thought I couldn’t go through you? Then I just wouldn’t be Flash Kassidy, ya dig? I knows you is gonna be a challenge. But i’ve had challenges before, every match I've had has been a challenge. But I rise up! Get high up! Every time! Because i’m a competitor, I don’t want to change the world, I just want to live up to the potential that I know I gots. “
Finally the duo get to the source of the beacon. It’s not a very pretty scene, cop cars flipped over, bodies laid out all across the street. And in the middle of it all was the one they call the executioner. Flash put his arm in front of Charlie, signaling for her to back up. This was one he had to face on his own, the two square up - eyeing each other up and down. It would seem that The Executioner has been waiting for Flash, but that didn’t phase the dank defender. The two start to do battle, both showing off their almost superpower esque abilities. Flash flying through the air, fast as lighting hitting quick striked trying to weaken the menacing man. While The Executioner uses his strength to throw, and brutalize Flash, in a cold calculated fashion.
“The mind games, the attempts at horror. None of that bull-ish spooks me. Because I’ve seen it before, i’ve seen you before Aiden. What separates you from Viduus Morta? Or Ragnarok? What makes yo bitch ass any different? I’ve faced so many rogues in the gallery, that I really do feel like i’m a superhero. I may have been doing this for myself at the beginning, but after seeing the way y’all roll… After being screwed over not once, but twice by y’alls little tricks? I’m fuckin’ batman bitch!”
Flash gets the upper hand, leaping up into the air he taps a button on the side of his leg, and blades pop out from his ankles. He back flips through the air and leg drops the back of the Executioners head decapitation him! Then the scene stops, slowly zooming out, it is then that you realize none of this was actually real. Instead it was just a comic strip that Flash was drawing. He sat in a reclining chair, Charlie sitting on his lap watching him as he drew. The pair laugh as they look up into the camera, both red-eyed with sly smiles across their lips.
“ I came to Union because I wanted to prove to everyone that I was the best, but now? I’ll settle with ridding this place of you and yo Salvation buddies. Aiden… You done fucked with the wrong dude, know what i’m sayin’? I don’t buy into your gospel, your mind tricks I seen it before. Your menacing, violent ways? They ain’t gonna be shit if you can’t catch me, You want to brutalize me? Shut me up? So did Ragnarok, we both seen how that ish played out. Every time I step in that ring, I get a little better, I learn a little more. I got you figured out before we even step in between them ropes bruh! “
Flash taps his forehead, as Charlie gives the side of his head a kiss.
“ My mind is always on the go, it’s always expanding, always calculating. There ain’t a trick in your book that you can use against me, won’t show me nothin’ I ain’t seen before! I DO NOT FEAR THE EXECUTIONER! FUCK YOU! AND FUCK SALVATION! I am the burning light in the darkness, I am the savior from Salvation! The only light going out on the twenty-third, is you!”
And with those final words, the camera clicks off - leaving nothing but a black screen.
