-----------The week before--------
Tranquility on a boat with my man, Shane Trudex, enjoying the Caribbean air. This is exactly what we needed as our schedules hardly ever sync anymore or we have club business that we have to tend to, so when Shane, suggested this it was a no brainer for me. Half naked on a boat with no interruptions except for my now ringing phone and a number I don't recognize, but I better take it as you never know when it might be some of the club members. Finally deciding to swipe right to answer and say the nervous "hello" waiting to hear who might be on the other end, which was surprising when it was just a call congratulating me on getting hired at Union Battleground. Doing the usual song and dance, thanking them for the opportunity and finding out when I have to report ect, ect. Once the call ends Shane's eager eyes are staring at me. He is trying to read my expression before I can vocalize the exchange.
Shane ~The Trademark~ Trudex- From what I overheard you got the job, but are we happy or not?
Josie still seeming in shock lets the silence hang in the air just a bit longer before she gives her rebuttal.
Josie Pleasure- I'm not sure just yet. I mean I needed the job, but not sure what to expect since Blake is there and he never would invite me to join him if he didn't think I'd be successful. I report next week so that means our vacation will have to be cut short so we can make it in time for my debut.
Shane ~The Trademark~ Trudex- Baby, we got all the time in the world for days like this. I can't wait to see my girl back in action!
----------Present Day--------
Backstage Josie is talking to Shane as a loud throat clearing brings the conversation to a pause as their attention is directed to the doorway as Blake enters the room with a big smile. Feeling relieved that he came to say hi, she smiles back as Blake and Shane exchange nods.
Blake Archer- You ready?
Josie Pleasure- Always
The trio begin their walk towards the curtain in silence as Josie, taps the title around her waist and begins to think to herself that she has to prove herself all over again in a new company and facing an opponent that she knows absolutely nothing about other than her name and her picture, but that doesn't really tell you anything about the person themselves or how they are. Josie's reputation usually proceeds her as she's a vet in this business so she's never nervous about first impressions, but it was time for her to step into the ring and greet this new world that she was accepted into. Shane accompanies her hand in hand even holding the ropes for her to enter like a true gentleman. Some of the males in the audience have already taken notice of her appearance and have made some various cat calls and whistles. Shane hands her the microphone as he sits on top of one of the turnbuckles in a relaxed pose. Josie brings the mic to her lips and begins...
Good evening! I know that most of you are ready for some action, but I thought that I would take this time to introduce myself as my name is going to be the only one upon your lips after tonight. My name is Josie Pleasure and before all the childish name calling begins, no I'm not the leader of the Pussy Cats and to be honest that one is just so over used. I know that I'm the newbie here and right off the bat you either love me or hate me cuz there is no middle ground with me and those of you that haven't made up your mind yet...by the conclusion of this match you will have formed your opinion. Being new I don't know much about my opponent Maggie Chamberlain, so I can't really say much about her other than she's in for a world of hurt by yours truly. You see my nickname is "Psycho Bitch" and again after tonight y'all will understand why that fits me oh so well. A lil background about myself...I've wrestled for quite awhile in various organizations the latest being GWP which is where I won this World title that I sport with pride and instantly your thoughts are forming as to what kind of competition did I have to face to get this title and I can tell you some of the best. I want to tell you all right now Don't Underestimate Me, those that do will endure the nightmare of their own design. I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to kick ass and win gold just like I've done everywhere that I've went. Now Maggie, I'm sure that you're feeling a bit apprehensive to step in the ring with me, but I promise it will be quick, but severely painful. Ha Ha! Usually I'm not one to make assumptions, who am I kidding of course I am! From just the fact that you have yet to make your way out here, makes me believe that you fear me and with good reason if you've heard any of the rumors or googled me. I'm a bad girl! Can't wait to beat you!
Shane has a huge smile on his face as he listened to his girl cut her debut promo and watches her hold her well deserved title in the air for all to see.

BUSINESSASUSUAL // β β³πͺ
_______________________
Thankfully, Maggie's small β not to mention, involuntary β hiatus from Union Battleground has come to an end. Better yet, you don't exactly have to twist her arm to get her to tell you that she wasn't all that sad to see those girls go. Watching Genevie Carlson and Felix Hartley (albeit, from the couch and not from ringside or backstage) open the proverbial can of whoop-ass was immensely satisfying for her, and though she wouldn't be able to extract revenge herself, she felt like she got justice served on a cold, cold platter.
To be fair, she isn't much of the vengeful type anyhow.
What she was focused on now, with complete tunnel-vision, was her upcoming match with Josie Pleasure. For starters, Maggie felt completely confident heading into the ring with somebody a little . . . closer to her stature, you could say. For once, it wasn't a ginormous, bulky, creatine-snorting powerhouse that had the potential to crumble her like a stale cookie at any given second. And . . . for once . . . it would finally be an opponent that she could tell Carter about without praying that she wouldn't be sweeping up the remnants of her grandmother's urn that was "mistakenly" shattered in the process. That only happened once, though. Obviously.
Not that she would be able to tell Carter right now, regardless . . .
SUNDAY MAR 18 2018 | MANCHESTER, UK 8:17 P.M.
"So he just . . . "
"Up and left."
Maggie shrugged her shoulders, looking downtrodden and tired. Her sister, Aubrey Chamberlain crossing her arms and furrowing her brow - obviously harbouring a lot of suppressed distaste for her sister's boyfriend.
"Wait, what happened, exactly?" Aubrey questioned.
"Well, he was having a few drinksββ"
"ββA few?"
"A bottle of wine," Maggie sighed, "And he started murmuring something about my behaviour and how I was acting like a whore and a bitch and flirting over social media with some of the Union Battleground guys and he just . . . lost it. He was pointing and yelling but I couldn't make out exactly what he was saying between the slurs and the slang and the, just, the irrationality coming out of him, you know?"
"Right."
"And then he just took his car keys β bottle still in hand, mind you β and left. That was last night. Haven't heard from him, he hasn't called me, he won't answer my texts."
Aubrey made a 'pfft' sound. She had never really liked Carter; nobody in her family did. It's often the case when everybody can see what's going on from the outside of the box looking in.
"Magz," Aubrey shifted her hips away from the counter top she was leaning on and chose to sit down on a bar stool a bit closer to Maggie. "Can I . . . ask a question?"
"Of course," Maggie's expression turned to one of concern as she stared down at her sister.
"Has Carter ever . . . you know," She halted, hoping she wouldn't have to finish her sentence. When it was apparent that Maggie wasn't catching on, Aubrey sighed. "Hit you?"
Maggie's eyes darted to the floor.
"What do you mean?"
"Uh," Aubrey jolted back, "I feel like if I have to clarify what I mean by, 'did he hit you', the answer is yes."
"He doesn't hit me. There have been a few instances where maybe he's been a bit more . . . passionate, but never, like, violent."
Aubrey's eyes narrow as Maggie struggles to maintain eye contact with her sister. She wasn't sold on Maggie's beat-around-the-bush answers. The intense stare down didn't last long as Aubrey's phone vibrated against the marble and startled both of them. She looked down at her text:
TYLER Where are you? Our offspring is eating lipstick. Can't we just sell her?
"Shit. I have to go," Aubrey stood up and began collecting her coat and purse, "Tyler's having some issues putting Violet down."
She took Maggie into a long, heartfelt embrace.
"You need anything β anything," Aubrey put her hands on either of Maggie's shoulders, "You call me."
Maggie tilts her head, shaking her finger into the camera.
"I've been on the sidelines for weeks, now. It actually hurt me emotionally to know that after all I've tried to put into my performances and how much of myself I ended up giving in every match whether it was televised or not, all of that was taken away from me by two spoiled brats who couldn't handle the fact that they actually had to work to achieve something here. It's going to be a slow, slow ride for people like me β new, greener than a stoplight, no notable achievements and still training endlessly to improve β I know I'm not going to be given anything overnight. I'm more than happy to work for it and appreciate every step of that journey. Part of my journey, apparently, is having to sit on my butt and watch people tear the roof off the place without me. I have so much pent-up emotion just sitting in the pit of my stomach right now. Anger, jealousy, love, excitement . . . and I know without a doubt that, despite my one loss to The Patron Saintes, we're going to go right back to business as usual with Josie Pleasure."
Maggie's smile was contagious.
"Business as usual for Maggie Chamberlain means me going out there, no matter who is on the opposite end of the ring, and doing the impossible. Coming up with a new way every time to take down my opponent. I've done some really great things here so far, including somehow defeating the likes of tremendous powerhouses in a show of pure skill and resiliency. I'm going to believe until the day that it's proven otherwise, that those things will carry me through any other competition here, including Josie Pleasure. Sure, you've got a chick who willingly distorts her body for this sport, going through scaffolds and pounding on her own head with a steel chair. The chick's for sure demented in a way that is unpredictable and a little frightening. But, so were all of my other opponents. Nothing is scarier than having a 6-foot-somethin' meathead looking down at you, drool dripping out of the sides of his mouth like something out of a comic book β trust me. So, if I can go toe-to-toe with those types, I gotta say, I'm not too worried."
"Especially because, these last few weeks, I've had the opportunity to reflect and what I've been doing is studying. Studying the patterns of people who come and go and the patterns and habits of those who have been incredibly successful in wrestling. Something I can't help but notice is that Josie's first impression was nothing short of reading her accomplishments off like an essay β and it's amazing, the woman is representing different companies and bringing her brand around the world. But what it tells me is that Josie knows that I'm a threat, and she knows she has something to prove. She feels the need to gloat so that nobody sees her as the underdog sharing a ring with me. Girl, I've been there β I AM there. I've been the underdog consistently, week after week, and not once have I ever tried to go out there or film myself going on and on and on about what I've done and where. I've realized that none of it matters and it's all just crap that we say in hopes that the fans like us and cheer for us and give us that little confidence boost before we do what we're made to do. But let me tell you something . . . "
Maggie leaned in.
"Just work, girl. Bring your game, and I'll bring mine too. Show me why I should respect you, and I'll show you, too. It's what we do as athletes and performers."
