OOC: Sorry but I went 39 words over lol
Los Angeles, California
The return to the wrestling ring was set for February 1st 2017 in Las Vegas. Britain was ready to face the likes of Chloe Dupont and whatever she had to bring to the table. She had waited for an opportunity to return to the game that she fell in love with. A love that never faltered and would choose over anything. Some might call it an obsession, but it was her life and wrestling is her life.
Britain arrived to the Sirius XM headquarters in Los Angeles, because she was to appear on the radio show "Conversations with Maria Menounos" to promote the upcoming Union Battleground L!GHTS OUT show. Britain removes her over-sized shades from her eyes as she headed over to the front desk. Britain was greeted with smiles and handshakes. One of the producers of the show met her, escorting her and her manager to where they were physically filming the show.
On the elevator ride up, the producer made a quick note that Maria was already on the air and filming the opening of her show. It didn't take long for the elevator to come to a stop on the third floor and when the doors slid open Britain was the first one out.
Now in the hallway with nothing but glass acting as walls, passing each radio show. Britain didn't even stop to hand over her bag and sunglasses to her manager, wanting to be prepared once she walked into that studio.
Maria Menounos: Thanks for tuning into the conversation because we have a great guest on the show today. And I've been learning about this gorgeous young lady for the past two weeks and found some interesting topics about her we can discuss. Plus everyone knows how much of a wrestling fan I am so once the opportunity to have her on my show came up, I took it. There were no questions about when her name was mentioned as a potential guest.
The door opened to the studio and upon seeing Britain Jade, Maria's face lit up more. Britain beams as she waves over at Maria, saying hi as she made her way to the neighboring chair from the hostess. Britain puts the headset on her head with the large microphone contraption in front of her.
Maria Menounos: She's here, ladies and gentlemen. The more gorgeous in person Britain Jade is in our studios. Celebrate. Yeaaaaah.
Maria tosses some confetti in the air to signal a small celebration that brought a light chuckle out of Britain.
Britain Jade: Thank you for the warm welcome. I feel pretty.
Maria Menounos: Before we start, why don't you say hi to all of the people listening on Sirius right now.
Britain Jade: Hello, people of Sirius. Just like the Queen Brit Brit said in her song; I know I shouldn't have kept you waiting... But I'm here now.
Maria Menounos: It's great that you made the show one of your many stops today. So. What I want to know is; what's a pretty girl like you doing in wrestling? I've heard a lot of stories about how other women broke into the business. What's the story?
Britain Jade: I wish I could tell you this elaborate story about how things got started for me. Because I never dreamed about becoming a wrestler, it was just something I enjoyed watching others do. I use to plan events for nightclubs in Las Vegas and a few wrestlers would frequent the place I was working at. Most of them were these beautiful women and that peaked my interest to look into wrestling. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would step inside a wrestling ring at 23 years-old. All I said was "hey, I wanna wrestle. Can you teach me?" And the rest is history.
Maria Menounos: You make it sound so easy.
Britain Jade: It's easy getting your foot in the door BUT the process of bettering yourself and your skills is extremely hard. Because you have so many people rooting for you to fail based on the fact that certain girls didn't come up the system the traditional way. And what I mean by that is going to a wrestling school and learning the craft there.
Maria Menounos: Does it bother you that other wrestlers give you little to no credit for walking into the business blind? I'm sure that there are some guys out there that still think that a female who looks like you has no place in a wrestling ring.
Britain looks slightly up to think back on that question, frowning a little. Her head slowly moves side to side not being able to come up with one name, which was a good thing. Sometimes wrestlers getting a bad rep for being malicious towards each other.
Britain Jade: None that I can think of. Every wrestler that I had the pleasure of crossing paths with were always so nice and helpful. It doesn't bother me when someone thinks that I have come into wrestling the way I did. I'm not ashamed of it because of the things I learned and at the fast pace that I did. And I'm such a perfectionist that if I get it wrong that I will keep trying until I get it right. But I prefer I get it right the first time, which I usually do. Not to toot my own horn or anything.
Maria Menounos: Now that you've learned the ropes (so to speak) and you start to win championships, and naturally the fans adore you. You take half a year off and in a few shorts day are about to make your debut for Union Battleground. What's going through your mind about that? Something like that has to make you nervous.
Britain Jade: Absolutely. Taking those six months off was something that I didn't want to do, but that early on in my career I was at a crossroads. I was unsure about what I wanted to do. But I did continue to train and keep myself in tip top shape. That prepared me for my return to wrestling.. Ugh, I hate that. Return to wrestling. I hate myself for saying it. Anyways, moving on.
She laughs nervously.
Maria Menounos: What's wrong with it? People make comebacks all the time in professional sports.
Britain Jade: But they've been out for long periods of time. I feel like I have no business saying it. Besides that, I think Union Battleground is an amazing place to get my feet wet and really dive into as I better my wrestling skills. So when the company approached me about signing with them- I wasted no time. I said give me the contract because I want to wrestle. The past two shows I met a bunch of great people and we're ready to rock Wednesdays at eight/seven central. Be sure to catch L!GHTS OUT on the Spike network. Don't forget. Wednesday night.
Maria Menounos: Is the show every Wednesday night?
Britain Jade: Unfortunately it isn't. Right now it's every other Wednesday from when the show airs. It's a bi-weekly schedule.
Maria Menounos: That's a neat concept.
Britain Jade: It is. Sometimes I miss the crazyiness that goes on backstage when we're putting the show together. There's just something about it that gives you a jolt of life, just as much as walking out to that cheering crowd. It's like when you're excited for someone to open your gift that you spent hours on finding the perfect one.
Maria Menounos: Like you're more excited than they are.
Britain Jade: Exactly. And this isn't me trying to sell how great Union Battleground is. You can come to the show on February 1st and see for yourself.
Maria Menounos: Did you just ask me to come watch the show? If so, I have to since you were nice enough to come on to mine.
Britain Jade: If your Wednesday night isn't busy and can make the one hour flight to Las Vegas, then come watch some wrestling. What's better than capping off a night in Sin City by watching some great wrestling matches? The February 1st show is stacked with talent who know how to put on a show.
Maria Menounos: And where is L!GHTS OUT taking place?
Britain Jade: At the Mandalay Bay.
Maria Menounos: I've been there to watch a few events and tried my hand at the casino. Beautiful place.
Britain Jade: Oh yeah. The pool there is amazing.
Maria Menounos: Who are you facing Wednesday night?
Britain Jade: Her name is Chloe Dupont. I believe that we'll put on a fantastic match and I can't wait to get started.
Maria Menounos: That's it for us. If you are in the Las Vegas area be sure to get your tickets for the Union Battleground show, because you won't want to miss it. Thanks for stopping by, Britain.
Britain Jade: Thanks for having me.
Maria did her little send off before removing her headset, giving Britain a handshake and a hug. They share a more private conversation about the wrestling show and a bit of laughs. Her charm was infectious. Shortly Britain left with her manager because her day was far from over.
