The cameraman drops into a darkened abyss, as a river of blood and souls ran through the middle of the space. The smells were unbearable to most, and the cameraman covered his mouth and nose as to not breath in the air. He sees something sitting across the river, but he was afraid to cross the river, as the world seemed to be burning around him, and he was getting sick merely at the smell of the room. He sees a bridge off in the distance, and he makes his way over to the bridge. The bridge is ready to collapse at any moment, because of the flames. The cameraman makes his way across quickly as the bridge collapses behind him. He falls to the ground as he had to jump across to catch himself. He gets up and brushes himself off as he picks up his camera in the distance and sees the item he saw across the river.
The thing is faced backwards to him, as it begins laughing. He flips it over, seeing that the eyes were removed for tacks, and it was holding something but the item was immovable so the cameraman didn’t bother to try and pry it from the hands of the doll instead it began speaking to him. He was always frightened by it, and it knew that it was only him that it was speaking to.
The Doll The coin can be sought by those who seek it, but a match will come afterwards to the four lucky victors. But where she awaits you I do not know. I know what is in front of me, is something you will not need, nor will I. Go, and you will find what you seek from her. You will find war, you will find death, you will find the peace that she brings. Now return my soul to it’s proper rest, so I may be free.
The cameraman nodded and threw the doll into the river of blood, and the hands absorbed it back into itself. The doll was heard cackling as it sinks with the hands, knowing that it was returning to whence it came. He begins his way down the forest path in which the doll did not specify where he would find her this time, a woman in black stood on one of the trees and watched him carefully. She pulled her gas mask up then began walking along the trees in front of her as the cameraman makes his way down the path.
“the Queenslayer” Legion You’ve come to the forest to seek us out. But in your haste did you choose the right path? It seemed like you have thought you aced the test, but in reality, you have been displaced. Do you wish for us to put you on the right path? Or shall we let you discover your fate on your own?
The cameraman nods as he looked around for the voice, and she snapped her fingers returning them to the start of the path where the cameraman took his original spot looking at the multiple paths. The woman dropped down from the trees, and the paths disintegrated from six to about four. She motioned to all four it she was sure that he would make a right decision.
“the Queenslayer” Legion Every path you take, will lead to us eventually. But the path you choose has already been determined by fate. Do not let the weight of the decision make your choice for you, there is only one right path. Choose wisely.
She disappears to the trees once more, as she watched the man. She knew that he would not make the right choice but she made sure that all paths led to the end of the road where she wanted him. She then watched him take his first steps down the path she was watching him from and smiled underneath it as she began walking alongside him the trees that weren’t burnt along this path were used to holding her, so she began speaking once more.
“the Queenslayer” Legion Alyssa, you only got a preview of what we can do at War of the Worlds. Yes, we were part of team Salvation, but only in truth will you find out what it finally means to have faced us. You have to learn, when you face the Legion, there is not one, but three minds working together. Who you will face you will never know, but it is a treat for us to mess with you. Once more Alyssa, you and “I” will meet this time to fight over a medal.
Legion cackles as she looks down getting the cameraman to continue following her as she walked along. She looked down occasionally trying to keep her own balance combined with the fact that the man might not decide to stray off the path that he was on. She then began speaking once more.
“the Queenslayer” Legion This night will be after we have competed in a deathmatch in another place, at home in Japan. But do you think that is going to stop us from achieving our goal, to become a dual champion. The coin will be won and then taken to the next match, where we will take our title. But Alyssa first thing is first, if you wish to succeed it’s simple really beat us. We won’t deny we will fight till the end, and then we will continue because we are the warriors on the inside.
She then steps on a branch and it breaks under her. She lets herself fall to the ground landing on one knee, looking up at the man there is some blood coming from her face but that was a scratch she had previously. She stands up slowly, laughing underneath her mask, as she removes the glasses she was wearing.
“the Queenslayer” Legion The forest can be a fickle mistress indeed, taking those who do not belong and converting them into souls, and taking those who do belong here and turning them as one of us. Alyssa, we pray that you never come here because if you do, there will be unimaginable horrors you will suffer. On that night when we will meet, then you will see in front of you the horrors. We will see you on Friday, waiting and watching you.
She cackles as she vanishes from in front of the cameraman and returns with a chest that held something he would need to leave the area. The area began to light up when she returned as if the fire had been dead for awhile, as they walked together down the path. But as soon as she had decided to send him home the flames kicked back up. She cackled, as she leads him back up the path.
“the Queenslayer” Legion On May 18th, Alyssa will see for the first time what the world already knows about us. We are the monsters that go bump in the night, we are the demons you fear. We are Legion, and we are the many. For us this is not the end of the road, but the beginning and the Journey for the remaining three coin holders goes down the other paths. Where they lead we do not know.
She laughs as she drops the chest at the start of the path. The fire behind her burned with rage, as it consumed her, making her vanish and the door to appear. The cameraman grabs the key from the chest, and places it in the door. The thing seen inside the doorway was Mister J sitting at his desk, reading his book as the door is sucked shut behind him.
“the Guardian” Mister J And that was I hope an enjoyable trip.
He laughs as the cameraman runs away scared as the scene fades out.

It’s difficult to describe what you’re seeing. The padded walls, floors, and ceiling are all white, yet the room feels dim and dark. Light isn’t the issue as there’s plenty to illuminate the room. Still yet, what you’re seeing defies the conventions of color and atmosphere. Perhaps it’s the oppressive nature of the room that digs its claws into the visual space in your mind and creates the illusion. Without being present in the room yourself, you still find yourself uncomfortable at the sight of it.
A familiar figure wanders slowly around the room in a patient gown. Alyssa Daniels is the only person, only thing in the otherwise empty room. Her messy hair seems darker, a deeper shade of pink nearing a purple. Perhaps it’s another trick of the light, you think.
Alyssa’s voice narrates over the scene.
“They thought this was the end.”
Suddenly, the Alyssa in the room shrieks and begins to slam her fists into the walls. As if the blows are being felt throughout the room, the view quakes with each strike.
Flash!
Alyssa slowly crawls to the ring, helping herself up by pulling on the apron. She rolls into the ring.
“Everything hurt. War? You better believe it was. I was running on determination and, to be truthful, a bit of stubbornness. I refused to leave anything I had to give in that ring if it meant Salvation would walk out victorious. It was just Nemesis and I remaining. I had to do what no one has been able to do and defeat him. I knew it would take a little something extra.”
Her eyes light up as she spots the steel seat of a broken chair lying nearby. She grasps it firmly and turns to starts climbing to her feet. She sees Nemesis already on his feet and turning to locate her. Out of time, she used everything she had left to leap and grab his head, pinning it to the cold, solid steel against her knees and dropping. After the dull thud of skull against steel, his body went limp and he crumples into a heap on the mat. As Alyssa loses her grip, the steel seat bounces away and she too lies motionless, having spent the last bit of energy she had to take Nemesis down. Her eyes look upon his lifeless body and a small smile appears on her face.
“In that moment, I ‘knew’ I had won. I had him dead to rights. All I had to do was pull myself over to him and throw any part of my body over his and those final three seconds would register, bringing the battle to an end. But for the life of me, I simply could not will my body to respond! That’s when he intervened.”
The crowd erupts as he limps out onto the stage and down the ramp. He rolls into the ring and approaches the downed Heart of Infinity.
“I heard the commotion but couldn’t sit up to see its source. I felt myself being pulled to my feet, an unfamiliar scent overwhelming me. This definitely wasn’t Nemesis. The smell, to best describe it, was like an animal pen at the zoo mixed with five-month-old cheese. With the help, my body re-engaged and I was able to stabilize myself. That was when I looked into the eyes of Kelly Godless for the first time since late twenty-seventeen.”
Without questioning his presence, Alyssa reaches out and grasps onto him in a jubilant hug.
“I couldn’t believe it! Nemesis was down and out, and Kelly Godless was back! I didn’t think it possible leading up but in that moment, I truly felt like the war was over. Kelly was safe and Salvation would be defeated. Except, something didn’t seem right. The embrace, I realized, was like hugging a mannequin.”
She withdraws from her embrace, seeing that Kelly Godless is staring at her blankly. It’s as if he’s in a trance. Alyssa snaps her fingers in front of his eyes a few times to get his attention, but the reaction takes her by surprise. Godless kicks Alyssa in the stomach, hooks her head under his arm, lifts her and spikes her heat into the mat.
With a flash, everything goes white.
“The only thing left to hear was the deafening silence of betrayal.”
The scene changes back to the white padded room. Alyssa now sits in the middle of the floor, her arms wrapped around her knees which are pressed to her chest. Her chin rests on her knees as she looks ahead in thought. Her mouth opens to speak but her tone is strangely much softer than her words.
“I bet you feel pretty smug right about now, don’t you Legion?”
Her expression is emotionless, distracted.
“Your cult of misfits successfully took everything from us. Finale has been emptying his resources into finding Kelly, so much so that every Elysium show since Frontline X has been cancelled, postponed. He finally had a name for his boogeyman. He finally had direction. If he just pumped enough money, enough attention into the search, he was bound to find him, right?”
She shakes her head, her eyes narrowing.
“But he found us. With the owner sipping your kool-aid, Elysium is very likely finished. Finale only planned to hold that mantle until Kelly could be found and could resume his duties. Now, it seems that day may never come. And while we’re spitballing, Finale may just join up with you people - and you know exactly what I mean by ‘you people’ - to support his brother. Family is a powerful motivator after all. That being said, I suppose the relevant question now is... Where does that leave me?”
Alyssa looks around and nods to herself, to thoughts we cannot hear.
“With Elysium in critical condition and its owner standing with the group that wants to destroy it permanently, it’s reasonable that I could just walk away. After all, if Kelly wants to throw in with the enemy, there’s nothing more to fight for, right?”
Smirk.
“You couldn’t get so lucky.”
She climbs to her feet and rolls her head to stretch her neck.
“This, Legion? This is my asylum. This is what my headspace has looked like since War of the Worlds. The machinations of your little squad caused this. In this asylum, your championship belt carries no weight. In this asylum, there aren’t any extra voices to keep you company. When I heard you were next in my way, with a War Horse Medallion on the line no less, I just waited here. I wanted to savor every moment of anticipation leading up to the moment I got my hands on you. Last time, you had plenty of people on your team to run interference. You were able to slip into the chaos. Even then, I put you down. Now? You’ve got no shield, no chaos. Now, you have to stand alone against me. Do you really think the end result is going to be any different?”
Alyssa pointedly shakes her head.
“For the second Battleground show in a row, you face me in the main event. For the second show in a row, the stakes are high. And for the second show in a row, Legion, I will leave you lying on your back, your mind swimming through a sea of regret. This isn’t just personal between us now, darling. This is beyond that. You are no longer Legion, the crazy chick that blindsides me every chance she gets. You are also the avatar of Salvation. You are their representative, sent to face me after they attempted to destroy my will. That smug little smile on those pierced lips of yours? It lies to you, Legion. It tells you that you’ve got your prey all lined up and all you have to do is swoop in for the kill. Sound about right? You don’t even realize that you are no longer the predator. For so long, you’ve done as you pleased without repercussions. You’ve attacked and fled, refusing to show when I challenge you. Now, you’ve got no distractions and nowhere to run. In Durban, South Africa, I’m all you have.”
She smiles a wicked smile.
“And sweetheart, I’m all you’ll need. You’ve stripped everything away. Gone are the honorable intentions of saving Kelly Godless from his kidnappers. Gone is the defense of Elysium. Here I am with nothing, buried in the ashes of an invalid narrative. At Lights Out, you will bear witness as I rise from those ashes like a phoenix, better and more dangerous than before. You’ve left me with nothing to lose and that was your mistake. You’ve played your trump card, your rook, but you’ve shown your hand too soon. Starting with you, I will tear your dark family asunder. Starting with this medallion, I will show you just how dangerous an enemy I can truly be. You thought War of the Worlds marked the end, but you were very wrong.”
Beat.
“This is just the beginning.”
Alyssa glares into the camera, her eyes ablaze with determination.
On that image, the scene slowly fades.
