Championship Matches always have a special sort of dynamic to them. A special feeling of emotion that washes over you. In the lead up you’re so sure you’re putting everything together to make sure you succeed. You tell everyone of this and you try to make it impactful and meaningful, and then you step into the ring and you see the competition before you and more times than not they are in the same boat as you. They’ve been working hard, they’ve been putting in the same level of work. They want this just as bad as you, but there can only be one winner. There can only be one person who holds the glory, and you hit each other with purpose. You make every strike count. You’re here to prove something, and you’ll be damned if you let anyone stand in your way.
That was the mindset Kaelan had been in when she had stepped through the ropes for the Warhorse Championship match. She had something to prove. Not only to the Battleground, but the world as a whole. That she had evolved, that she had grew, and learned from her mistakes and in that surreal moment when she had done just that? She felt the rush of emotions flood her. The pride, the joy, and the fire burning inside her knowing that the Warrior Princess had grown to the Warrior Queen. Through the only way she ever wanted it. Hard Fought Battle. She had tasted the sweet taste of victory and she savored it. Let it consume her in a wave, and then once the high had faded she had looked to the losers.
Possibly the biggest loser of all Flash Kassidy. The man that had been a mere half a second too late to keep his dreams alive of being Warhorse Champion and in that moment Kaelan had pity for him. So many times she had watched that be her, and then she realized that yes Championship Matches cause special waves of emotions. There was the ones she had felt in victory, and then the ones she watched Flash Kassidy go through and had experienced for herself. She had kept her eyes on him after the bell had rung long enough to see those emotions and read them well, and in those moments. She knew how dangerous those feelings could be. So it came as no shock to her that her first challenge for the War Horse Championship was Flash Kassidy himself. Good. She wanted zero doubt in everyone’s mind who would have won that match at Guerilla Warfare no matter who she pinned.

Kaelan stood in the middle of a field with her Warhorse Championship draped across her shoulder. There was nothing remarkable about it. It didn’t look like anything special. Just a random field in the middle of nowhere. Could be almost anywhere in the world really. She looked down at her boot and pushed into the ground. The dirt wasn’t remarkable or different, it crunched underneath her boot the same way any other dirt did. She smirked and shook her head as she looked up towards the.
“Many Battles are fought in a War. Many Men have died in these battles, but upon research I’ve discovered that one of the bloodiest battles in history happened right where I’m standing. The Battle of Gettysburg. Many soldiers died but in the end they didn’t die in vain. Well some of them didn’t, because in the end the right side won and real change was made to this country that it stuns me they still are working on today. My point of standing here is to remind myself that I became more than just a Warrior Princess. To remind myself that battles are going to be hard, and that they may end bloody for me, but I am pushing myself to a bigger and better goal. So many men must have been terrified staring down the barrel of the enemies gun, but they rose up anyways and they fought. They fought for what they believed in and they had in their minds that their cause was just. That they were fighting for their honor and dignity. That’s what I’m here for in the Battleground. I’m here to fight for my own honor, my own dignity. To rise up and make REAL change here.”
Kaelan looked back to the ground. Trying to find any traces at all of a battle, but knowing they were all gone. No blood soaked ground. No shells or bullets. The ground was still trampled down. Probably the reenactments that happened here. Guess she would have to rely on her words and not edgy tactics to drive this point home. She had quite the amused smirk on her face at the thought when she looked up to speak again.
“Just look at the two other Champions. Each one trying to be a more blood soaked edgelord than the last. Two sides to the same fucking coin. It’s boring. Then you have me. Yes. I’m not afraid to get violent, and go to the lengths they are but I don’t need to live my life in the darkness and shadows. Cutting flesh and keeping the spooky lighting on to make myself seem like a threat. No. Here I am. Standing in the light of day on a REAL Battlefield making my point known. I am the Warhorse Champion because I was the best out of all the Medallion Holders. I was the Horseman that rose up and commanded them all to back down and in that moment I became something better. The Warrior Queen.”
“But in that moment I watched a man suffer a fate all too familiar to me. That fate of too little too late, and in that moment I knew what was next for me. I knew what that look in Flash Kassidy’s eyes meant. He was coming for me, and he was going to try to take what I worked so hard to get to, but I’ll be damned if I will let him completely destroy the strong foundation I have built for myself here in the Battleground so soon. You see. If I was in his shoes I’d think this was my time to prove that had I got there a half a second sooner I would be the Champion. Not whoever I didn’t stop. I would think this match would be about my Redemption and rise to being the Warhorse Champion, but Flash. This isn’t about you at all.”
A dangerous foe sure, but this isn’t the story of Flash Kassidy. No. This is the Warrior Queen’s Journey and she wasn’t letting it veer off course. She had laid the foundation for her throne well and she had to keep building upon it. Not let smoke and nonsense cloud her vision from the truth. There’s true evil in this world and Kaelan was the only thing standing in the way of seeing every single title in the Battleground slip into its hands. She gripped the strap of the Warhorse Championship tightly to the point her knuckles were white. She gritted her teeth and her eyes darkened and narrowed a bit as she spoke again.
“Since I walked back into the doors this is about me writing the wrongs of my last run here. This is about me building to something more. To being able to say that I started from the bottom and I clawed, and scratched my way to the top through hard fought battles. I can’t do that if at the first sign of competition I let the Warhorse Championship slip through my fingers. I have a goal in mind, and it’s worth more to me than the ego and the something to prove the mentality of a man who’s more high off his own supply than the drugs he’s currently on. I have a clear mind. No delusions brought on the haze Flash Kassidy always is looking through, my next goal is being the one to truly shut down Kaven Drell, and the only way I make sure I get there, is making sure I stop Flash Kassidy here and now at Lights Out. Yes. Kaelan Laughlin verses Flash Kassidy will be a battle for the ages, but for Flash it will all be in vain, because the Warrior Queen has set out to conquer the land of the Battleground, and NOBODY is going to stand in my way. Me winning this Warhorse Championship was no fluke, and I’ll drive that point home when I make Flash Kassidy another casualty of war.”
The Warrior Queen had Spoken and her grip loosened on her title as she lifted it up standing in the middle of that field. Her expression however did not soften. She was ready for war and she would not let anyone mistake her actions as anything less in that moment. The Warhorse Championship had to stay with her. She had to see the endgame through. Flash Kassidy this time, and next time she might even make it Kaven Drell.
